HI all,
I wont make a long post as that is in my journal. I am now finally just over 2 weeks after major foot surgery. As soon as I say "avascular necrosis" to the nurses here there "eyes almost roll into the back of their heads". or their expressions is like that. Their is the occasional one who is not sure what it is & when I explain it a bit & that I ended up with 10 stitches on top of foot, 5 on inside & one on ankle bone at back they all ouch.
I have got half plaster off & now got full leg plaster to the knee, non weight bearing for 8 weeks after surgery. When I get plaster off I will see surgeon & what we do from there.
Be VERY careful with amount of steroids you have, esp drip as it can cause all kinds of problems & further disability later on.
Anyway read my journal if you want to know more, it has my journey on it.
That is why I am absent from online for few weeks & I am still in hospital but on prepaid mobile device.

Glad to see you back again and very sorry to hear about your foot. :(
Also0, thank you for warning folks about the steroids. We've heard of two other cases of such a nightmare due to over use of them recently and it is similar to your story and both tragic and very sad.
These doctors should/must tell patients how serious the side effects can be from them. Why they don't is beyond my comprehension!
It is plain horrible/awful what has happened to you!

Glad to hear from you and I'm going to your journal. It's amazing how drs don't say anything and last year I wasn't dx and went to my PCP and told him about the numbness, he did nt know what was wrong with me, I told him, I didn't know what was wrong but told him the only thing that make my symptoms better was prednisone, he started screaming what I had was the long term side effects of prednisone abuse,, crazy dr, didn't let me finish telling him I only took an occasional pill not several a day. That alone make me research that, but when you mentioned it, I really learned about them.
I hope those eight weeks fly by and you recover satisfactorily.

If I have warned 1 or 2 people on here with my rants & writings then I am glad to warn others at least as I can't change the past.
Physio today & I hopped between the parralel bars & that was 3 meter.
