MRI came back suggesting MS

I just started with a Neuro and the Brain MRI came back with the radiologist suggesting that the 15 lesions in my brain are differential to MS. My Neuro only knows of things I thought were related to Neuro, like my burning thighs, and migraines. So his opinion right now is that MS is put on a back burner, and to first deal with my Sjorens test that keeps coming up very high positive. The thing is I haven't told the Neuro about balance issues, memory problems, incontinence, FATIGUE, eye blurryness that comes and goes,and crawling sensations, etc. After looking up MS on my own, I now see that these can be symtoms of MS. My question is this: I'm always in pain. Some days it's tolerable, others I get out of bed feeling like I went 10 rounds with Muhammad Ali and los!...LOL.... I've just read others here that do speak of leg pain, which I have really bad, but what about the all over muscle and joint pain? Especially the jumping joint pain? Can any body offer me any help with this? Thanks for any help.

Well, since you have 15 lesions on your brain differential to MS, I would think that it means MS. It is crucial that you tell your doc all about the other important symptoms. I am not a doctor, but they sound a LOT like MS to me: tatigue, eye blurriness, incontinence, etc., etc., etc. Important to clue your doc into those symptoms.

And then there is the pain. Sounds like he should rule out MS before he tries to rule out other stuff.

Please provide him or her with the entire picture of everything and then go from there. The things that he doesn't know about are extremely important. Hope that helps.

I know nothing about jumping joint pain or the joint pain and migraine pain from MS. I am sure others can fill you in there.

The joint pain and mucle pain sounds like fibromyalgia to me. There are people on here with fibro and MS that can help you tell which pain is what. But the same meds are used to treat it, nerve pain meds like gabapentine and lyrica, trycyclic antidepressants, antisezure meds like topamax (that will help with migraines too), if your hurting really bad i would get a pain managment doc and they can rx the opiods.

I agree that you should tell you doctor about all of your symptoms. I dont think he is necessarily wrong for looking into a Sjorens diagnosis first. You had positive results and some of your symptoms, especially a lot of the pain, could be attributed to Sjorens. I think Sjorens could also pose more of an immediate threat to your health so that should be looked into first. When they get things sorted out with that, follow up on the possible MS.

It is very important to rule out all other illnesses before an MS diagnosis. I know several people that were diagnosed with MS and years later found out they really had another disease that could have been better treated.

Don't forget to check the sub-group, "MS People Dealing with MS Pain." I think you will find lots of replies associated with all over body pain.

I just want to thank you all for taking the time to answer with some very good info. Next appt.(if he accepts me as a new patient) hopefully will be with a new Rhemo that specializes in Autoimmune (and Sjorns), then back to the Neuro with more info under my belt. I obviously don't want to be dx'd with MS, but I've known all these past 10 years that it is not Fibro. All I want is an accurate Dx and then treatment to stop the progression and ease some of the symptoms. Who the heck wants to be sick?...Well, none of us, but if that's the cards that have been dealt us, then it's optimal knowing which monster to fight. Again, Thank you all, and I wish you all the best!
