i had my second mri today but this time cervical spine. Everything was going fine until my face started to spasm all over in rhythm with the sounds of the machine. It was really weird, and I’m sure you know all the sounds the machine makes. Really unsettling. Anyone else experience this? As soon as the sounds would stop so would my spasms, and when they would pick back up the spasms would come back almost instantly starting and stopping with the noise.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Like the water we need to keep our bodies cool and functioning, I think we could all benefit from practicing deliberate breathing techniques, and being sure we get enough oxygen.
The only spasms in my face I've experienced were from stress while working or involved in a very stressful situation. It was my eyelid having some sort of twinges.
In your case with the MRI, I know it's so important to remain still in order to get a clear reading while you're going through that. I'd talk to your neurologist about this. Could be they'll have a solution for the future.
I take magnesium every day to keep my muscles from having spasms. Found out years ago how much our bodies need it. Has to be magnesium citrate or malate though, otherwise it's laxative properties kick in, I take magnesium citrate. I've talked about that quite a bit on the MS threads.
Hope you're doing alright and will talk with your doctor. Maybe call in and leave a message to ask for advice on whether this was a normal response to the MRI, etc.
