meprozine (mepergan fortis) drug

A dear friend of mine brought me a meprozine capsule last night, i was nearly in tears because of my leg pain. I took one and boy did it work! I've never taken a pain med that actually worked. the only downside is that it has pheneagan in it and makes you very very sleepy, so i dont'; think i could ever take in the day, unless i was planning on spending the day on the couch or bed, definately not something you could drive on. THis doctor gave this med for him when he had a bad attack of a kidney stone, he was laying in the floor with pain. I looked the drug up and its very similar to morphine, no wonder it worked. Im gonna go back to the pain clinic and ask if they will prescribe me some, since my neuro WILL NOT prescribe narcotics. just wanted to post this for those who are struggling with chronic PAIN.

My leg pain hasnt been as bad this past few days. But I hope that yours gets under control soon, I know between their spasms and numby times and the crinching pain, sometimes we wished we could just take a saw to them, as if that would make matters better *rolling eyes* but debbie my dear, hope your pain mgmt clinic helps you with that.

You would think giving the severity of your issues that they would be willing to try anything to make you more comfortable. Have a good day! xx Carl

Okay, sorry- Scratch that! I posted my reply just before turning over and going to sleep and boom bang pow! My legs and feet started their crap again.. in other words I guess I jynxed myself!!! I was so tired, but couldn't sleep with the pain. So like you, I'm back to square 1 at least until my doctors appointment can prescribe something that works.

They think this "carisoprodol" or (Soma) is some magic pill but it don't do anything but maybe 15 minutes of relief...

Hi Carolinagirl,

The pains meds out on the market now are so wonderful. I mentioned this in an earlier post. They don't fu(k with your head. Yes, there are those that put you our of your misery by sleeping, but there are choices now tha help keep your mind in-tack, like Opana. My "faculties" are all together and I have significant pain relief. At night I take something stronger when I don't have to worry about walking a straight line (if that is ever possible these days!) If you have a pms that is up to date of what meds are available you will be okay. if you find one that is prescribing you meds to knock you out to relieve your pain, i would run fast. I understand some pms' are farther advanced than others in the area of what is on the market. don't suffer this way, find relief! Good luck - lynne
