I have been on LDN for 1 1/2 years and noticed no difference from it. It doesn't seem to help me a bit but I keep taking it like it a supplement. My MS is still progressing slowly as always.

I do not get it and why some people get help from it because I do not. I am glad some people get help from it.

As we know, everyone is different.

I was on LDN briefly. It made me incredibly sick. I wasted $200.00 on a Dr. Scott and another $50+ on Skip's Pharmacy.

I believe that LDN is nothing but a hoax gone bad.

I would never recommend it to anyone, especially someone with MS that is already sick enough already!

I took LDN for about 6 months and sadly it did nothing for me.
But i have read a lot of testimonials from people who have benefited from taking it.

I just wanted to say my hubby gets his from Belmar Pharmacy (Lakewood, CO). It is like $30-$35 a month. The only thing it helped him with is urinary spasicity at night. It did take about 2.5 months before it really became noticable. He only has an accident once every week or two vs 3-4 times a week. Plus he gets more sleep because he doesn't have to get up in the middle of the night near as much. He says he has not had any neg side effects from it either.

It did nothing else for him that we noticed. So I am not toting this as a cure all. It did reduce a symptom for him that has made one part of life easier. Personally, I would say if doc OKs it to try it for three months if. If you find no improvement after three months then don't waste your money on a 4th.

The research UCLA showed the same relief (reduced urinary spasicity) in their study too. However, like all medicine might not help everyone.

I have taken low dose naltrexone a few years. The first improvement I saw within not many days was an improvement in my urinary frequency. I also had a distinct lessening of fatigue and a better ability to endure heat. I am secondary progressive and was already in a wheelchair with no use of my feet. After taking naltrexone a few weeks I began to be able to move my toes a little. It has been three or four years since I started it and I have not gotten any better than these early improvements, but my downward progression is slow. The one side effect of LDN that has never gotten better is that it makes my leg a little more spastic at night. I always take a baclofen at the same time

I have been taking LDN (3mg nightly) since about a year after I was dx'd, back about the end of 2008. Within a couple of months, others I know noticed I was walking much better, with better balance. I also slept better and felt more energetic.

I had a recent six month appointment with my neuros and they shake their heads during my visit trying to explain why MS is so "nice" to me. I have had no exacerbations since my dx in Noovember, 2007. I tell the neuros it is one or a combination of the three things in my life, Avonex once a week, the LDN I take every night, these or the fact that I refuse to allow stress of any kind in my life.

I have never had any bad side effects from LDN. My PMP was the one who prescribed it for me and I have a nearby compounding pharmacy that makes it up for me for $30 a month. All I can say is that something is working to keep my MS at bay and that something could very well be LDN.

I was reading this and just wanted to say that I am getting from Medco on a 90 day supply. Medco has a compounding pharmacy and provides it to me for just over $30 for a 90 day supply. I pay the entire amount myself as my company does not pay anything for LDN or for compounding drugs. But it is only about $10/month. So it doesn't have to be expensive. Ask your pharmacy about a 90 day supply.

Like I said, I do not know if it helps or not, but $10/mo is not a lot to pay. I may eventually stop taking it but it can be taken for a cheap amount.
