Amazing and inspiring movie. I watched this movie 13 years ago in my biology class. I didnt know ALD destroyed myelin. It makes me wonder if there are resources.to truly rebuild myelin, even in progressive conditions which dont have as many treatment options, if any, as RR cases. I wish our government did more and i just feel like it would rather not cure things to avoid.financial loss. I just read.the other day that an elderly man was getting stem cell treatment for myasthenia gravis and ALS and was actually getting better. We need to be more open here for these trials. Anyways, very good movie.
I used to really enjoy those types of movies, but I can't watch them anymore. They hit too close to home.
For example, Hilary & Jackie is a great film, which I had watched on several occasions preMS diagnosis. Now, there is no way I could watch it again. The protagonist, a famous and incredibly talented celllist played by Emily Watson, died at 42 of MS.
