I am still in limbo after 14yrs. I was told for 12 yrs i had cfs/m.e after having numerous tests including 2 brain scans that were ok. I woke 2 years ago with bad vertigo and had another brain scan which showed some lesions. I had a lumber puncture and evoke potential test which both came back normal. So the neuro said there was nothing more to do right now and see me again in 12 months time. I am currently not feeling well, i am aching from my neck to my hip on my right side. Been to see a gp who says it's muscular. Is it ok to have a massage with ms or would it make me worse. It feels muscular skeletal but don't know if it's ms or not.

I've had a massage with MS and it was very relaxing. I think it helps circulation and couldn't hurt. Sorry about the long time muscle problem you're experiencing.

I've had many massages and manipulation by a physio, all with really good results.

I spoke to an ms nurse yesterday and she said the neuro doesn't think i have ms but he's siting on the fence at the moment. I then said what are the lesions with and why have i been ill for 14yrs and she said viruses and age!! I am 45 and why were my 2 previous brain scans clear but the last one wasn't??

Maybe you recently developed the brain lesions & that's why they weren't there before.Lesions can develop for reasons other than MS. I'm your age & had lesions on the brain & spine w/first MRI 15 years ago--my subsequent MRIs have continued to show additional lesions on the brain & spine. My neurologist said that he could tell by looking at my MRI (& I'm assuming all MRIs) that my lesions were caused by MS. He said that a lot of people w/MS the lesions resemble fingers--sometimes called Dawson's fingers. What is cfs/m. e? Is there a treatment for it? Have you been to more than 1 neurologist? Get additional opinions. I was dx immediately w/MS so I saw 4 different neurologists trying to get 1 of them to tell me I didn't have MS.

Sorry--I'm typing this on a smartphone & it cut me off--definitely go for massages just don't let them use hot stones or hot towels on you. I always tell the massage therapist my health issues & have always had massage therapists who are familiar w/MS & have been very sensitive to my issues. Have you tried other types of alternative medicine? You might look into acupuncture or reflexology if you are not getting any relief thru the regular channels. Good luck on getting some relief.

cfs/me is chronic fatigue syndrome. No i have only saw this neurologist but he specialises in ms. I have booked myself a massage on wednesday so i will see how that goes.
