Well I must say I do thimk your unique I might be wrong ....But I for sure have more energy in the mornings.....and HAVE to have a nap (or I would sleep standing I know it)about 1pm and it can be from a nana nap to a sleep for couple hours depending if I slept at night ......sometimes I can drop off at 10 ish but then am wide awake at 2 and 3 in morning......... and cant sleep at all untill my hubby gets up .......soooooooo oddball oleblue....lol.....you are for sure a late night party animal :) lol
I just know that I need about 2-3 hours sleep during the day in order to make it until 9:30 at night! It seems I sleep all the time. Thank goodness my husband totally understands. My energy comes early in the morning and dies around 3pm.
I don't have a nap schedule. I still work so that is one reason. I "go" until I crash. Last Friday I had to leave work at 2:30 because I was getting really tired and sore. I drove 10 minutes to my parents house and slept for an hour. I felt a lot better after the nap.
When I feel good, I need 9+ hours of sleep a night or I am useless. If I have a flair I need closer to 12 hours of rest. I am not and have never been a morning person but I start to feel OK after I have eaten and been up a couple of hours.
I am a writer. I get up between 10 and 11.30 feeling very tired and stiff. Takes me two hours to get up if you include exercises to get me going, washing and doing cats litter. Have to stick to routine or else I would go back to bed. Eventually I get onto my computer to deal with emails etc and then work on writing on & off until we eat apx 5-6pm. I rest either before eating or after for 2-3 hrs in/on bed. Not a deeep sleep but more than a nap.
When I wake have new bout of energy which allows me to write more and then go online gaming with my wife (how we met) until 2-3am depending on whether US family call (as 7hrs behind UK).
Try to get 8 hrs min sleep but sometimes less sometimes more.
My friend...this IS NOT considered napping in the least...it's considered "PASSING OUT!"...For this is what I do all the time!
I have this saying I use to describe my sleep pattern...
"I don't sleep...I pass out!"
Meaning I have "MS Insomnia" & my sleep pattern is allot like yours & I tend to just go until I pass out. Then I wake up in the middle of the night & I can't seem to get back to sleep for a number of hours. It's really "Fun!"...So mornings? UGGH! Anyone else feel like they have been run over by a truck & are horribly numb & sore & it takes a crane to get out of bed & stand & not fall over...Say a prayer first (if you pray) Sometimes, I only wobble & I don't almost fall over or fall over getting out of bed or not feel my legs.
It was almost laughable last night because I literally passed out from MS pain & literally woke up at 3:24am to a "Unisom" commercial going..."Sometimes you can't get to sleep! Sometimes you can't stay asleep!...Unisom!" HA!...It's now 6am & I'm yet to get back to bed or pass out again, if you will.
My personal feelings on the sleep aids is I already pass out enough as it is (& not just the sleep issue & mental, physical fatigue issue, but falling over from MS dizziness & Epilepsy caused by the MS & trying not to trip over my own 2 feet...so I don't need extra help with sedation & imbalance)
So my friend...my feeling is you are not taking a nap...you are "passing out" & unfortunately your sleep is really off kilter & you are not alone! :-)
Take care,
Stay sane!
P.S...How long is a "Nap" suppose to be anyway & what the heck is a "nap?"...I'm confused! HA!...Seriously! haven't had a nap for years & my face has a funny confused look on it!
Kinda like the funny confused look I gave my PT therapist, that made us giggle, when he was trying to explain how "normal" people walked & I had no clue what he was trying to explain cause I haven't walked "normal" for years. HA!...Funny, but kinda not!
