Actually, I am not sure if that is the right explanation medically, but it is how it feels.
1. my physio. She's amazing. lots of advice, but the most useful snippets are to keep walking tall, and when you bring the 'bad' leg through, concentrate on the 'heel-strike', so make sure you push your heel to the floor with purpose. This helps you raise your toes and stops you tripping so much.
2. the ankle strap - called a 'foot-up' over here. It's in two pieces 0 one around the ankle, the other around the foot, attached by a strong piece of elastic. again, keeps the toes lifted. Might be worth looking into.
If I walk at a brisk pace, my leg kicks out more easily and it almost seems like I walk normally. Otherwise I am now tripping over myself.
It is exhausting thinking about each step. I get lazy and the walking gets worse. If I concentrate on it for the morning, it improves for that day. It is like relearning how to walk every day.
But never, ever dull.
