My case of it was much milder than yours. I've not been hospitalized for it since 2000 (and hope it stays that way) Gastroparsis is know as the starving disease and there are several people dx with it as I belong to a forum as they discussed feeding tubes and such. You are right it is scary and I don't want to scare you. Being informed about your condition/dx, will help you get through this. The stomach pace maker (gastric pacemaker) is new with good results and better than having feeding tubes in your stomach. I am so sorry that you have this dx. I pray that somehow it will correct itself, so you can eat normal food again and no pace maker.
I really think mine is MS related.
If I put myself on a liquid diet a few days I can usually go to a diet of mashed potatoes, cooked spinach and beets, for a few weeks.
Why this diet? . I don't know, I add hot sauce to the spinach and it gives it flavor. Some people claim beets are great for them and others have issues. Same with cooked spinach.
If you get to the place where you can eat solids again, you can get ideas from others but in the end, you have to find what works for you. Even when juicing, don't listen to others and take what they say as set in stone. What works for them might not work for you. And what messes their stomach up your's might tolerate.
Feel free to message me anytime. I don't check in often, but will keep you in mind and try to do so for a while in case you have questions.
I know what you mean. How much are we expected to take? I have MS, gastroparesis, and cluster headaches. It is all too much sometimes.
I really believe my gastropresis is from my MS. It is my stomach muscles going into spasm, just like my torso muscles, leg and arms muscles and so on.
Hang tough hon, so sorry you are having to deal with this.
I hope you are able to have a wonderful holiday despite it all.
