yeeessss i itch!!!!......i had the worse case yesterday,,,nothing helps mine...i have liver issues and my levels may be up or im just itching for some unknowb reason but it drives me batty!!!!!!!!!!

YES! I don't know if it's winter, meds, or what..but I HATE it!!! I try to drink more water :\

My scalp has been itching terribly for years now! I finally saw a Dermatologist about it a few years ago & was told it is NERVE related! The only thing offered were antidepressants, but given I don't fare well with synthetic drugs, I passed on this!
I use Scalpacin when it gets really bad & it does help somewhat, but nothing seems to help long-term! If the itching is truly Nerve related, then this seems to put it in the same arena as Neuropathy & we already know how many effective treatments there are for that! And the scratching goes on..................:>/

The itch can get really intense. My palms get really bad & it can last anywhere from a few minutes to hours. To bad the saying "If your palm itches your coming into money" isn't true I'd be a millionaire:)

I get this too...sometimes its just dry winter, others eczema, or a nerve 'firing off!'....in any case it is soooo annoying.
If its somewhere that you can 'rinse' in the sink, like hands-arms, I find that cold water can take it down a notch .
Theres always cortisone cream. But i found that for the eczema or the nerve thing that using either regular old fashioned Noxema cream (was originally made for eczema... ie: NO EXEMA) put on the area or I found a great handlotion from Bed Bath & Beyond that is C O Bigelows Mentha Body Vitamin Lotion. These have mint and eucalyptus that can distract the nerve (at least for me) and seems to help. Im thinking that the nerve itch is like having the hiccups--it just fires off so putting a new 'feeling' there helps me.

Hope you find some relief.....the humidity here in So.Calif is so low right now that is not helping the itchies either!!!!

Yes, anywhere my MS tends to act up (lower legs and hands especially), I get bouts of AWFUL itching that will not stop. I had to leave a meeting at work a week ago because the people around me were staring, probably thought I had flees! Ughhhhhh. It's especially bad if I wear something tight to my skin (gloves, or my AFO - leg brace, etc) If anyone finds anything that works for this, let me know.

I get this often as well and I agree with the post about wearing anything tight and also different types of textures and clothing bothers me now as well and will just set off my nerves something crazy. I haven't found anything that helps either really.

I itch all the time. It is driving me crazy!!! I will look and look at my skin and I just will not see anything there to make it itch so much. I put on different creams. I have found that using Carmex cream works pretty decent because it kinda burns and that takes your mind away from the itching. So basically your just trading the itching in for some burning. But the burning actually feels kinda cool so it is much better. I tried Bag Balm which is supposed to be soothing and restorative and healing. It just smelled real bad and my hands were a mess cause I just itched through all the gunk. I did try that Neuro liquid stuff for diabetics from Walgreens and that actually made the itching stop completely! But as it was liquid and passed to quickly through the barriers it did not last long and it is way too expensive to always have. Good for when your trying to sleep though. Will get you through the night. Best of luck! Irish
