Strange you just posted this as I left the DS site to research MS and nausea. I have been on Prednisone a week and a half and I'm down to 30 mg now.. I had been in a mild relapse and the two days before starting the steroids I was green sick with nausea. It was two horrible days of constant phenergan and valium to control it.. Then it left as quickly has it started... just like that... and hasn't returned until now !!! It just hit tonight and my right foot has twitched constantly for hours(driving me crazy) .. I wonder how can these things be happening as I'm finishing up the last days of Prednisone.. very strange. I've thought maybe my potassium is low and causing this due to the prednisone but it's the same sickness I had before the meds. I'm glad you brought up this topic as it's so hard to know if nausea is from all the crap we have to take daily or just an effect of the MS... isn't that always the question we have? I hope you feel better and we can learn from your post..

I'm very new to all of this, but isn't it possible that it might have something to do with MS affecting your sight (a type of vertigo maybe)or some other sensory control spot? Good luck with your MRI hope you get those answers your looking for.

I am newly dignosed but need a confirmation with spinal tap test. I have nausea as a result of optic nerve inflammation. It is getting to be much beter now but was pretty terrible when started. I actually lost movement in my left eye completely. I agree with Todd that it might be due to sensory input. I drink turmeric tea almost every night before bed, and eat healthy, mostly organic diet now. I no longer eat bread-was a huge lover, but now so scared for my health I will not touch it.

Funny you posted this now as I only went to a multiple disease dr & he has put me on the maxalon 3 times a day before meals (about 30mns) as I have had a lot of nausea & vomiting recently,

This group is such a blessing. Recently I have struggled with nausea to the point that I sleep with a trash can beside the bed. Lemons are the only thing that seems to temporarily settle my stomach. What's strange is that nothing really tastes good anymore. Initially, I was chalking it up to a bad meal then I noticed it was happening more frequently. It never dawned on me that the MS may have something to do with it.

Now that Todd mentioned the sensory connection, I remember how I started feeling strange when we cut the lights off to watch a movie last night.. I got strange feelings in my head (it's like a stack of books sitting on my head) and I get this weird pressure in my head almost like my my ears are stopped up. The nausea hit me a few hours later and I was still having waves of pressure in my head. I've been told these are a type of migrane which I'm finding fall in line with relapses. We've thought ON was causing the nausea but there's never been any sign of nerve inflamation. I've always been extrmemly light and noise sensitive.

I'm just not sure what it causing it ! I do have IH and w/ that I have OP Nerve swelling along w/ migraines however as of right now or 2 weeks ago the neuro op says my swelling is down.I thought maybe I was getting sick or poss. it was my pressure but it was short lived.

Now it keeps coming out of nowhere and just goes aways.My stress levels are down.well as down as there gonna be...

I guess it's possible MS could be causing nausea it seems a few of us have this problem and God only knows What might come our way ! I live the most bizarre , crazy sx and yes It all can sound so ..

After all I too like some of you have been told that I'm crazy in a nicer way, or that Doc's words ~ If you try not to think of it it will go away , out of sight out of mind ! ( REALLY ) !!

I don't have the official dx. yet but pretty sure its ms. Nausea is a part of my everyday so I started taking gravol 50 mg every morning about half hour before my other meds and that seems to be helping me somewhat.. Hope you find something that works for you as well as nausea is just a horrible feeling to have... good luck!

I have had IBS for years and have had nausea after eating. I was recently diagnosed with MS after a year of dr visits, mri's and countless eye exams. The nausea has gotten worse after meals, i am now experiencing indigestion, which I have NEVER had before. My assumption is that it is related. I am in a relapse right now and my stomach isn't being so fair to me.

I read somewhere that M.S. has been know to cause bowl trouble, and stomach problems. I had a very bad flareup and the doctor was sure it was diverticulitis, but none of the extremely strong antibiotics would take out the swelling along my large intestine. I think it was an M.S, flareup and that happened to be an area that was affected.
