Hi all I'm new to this group but I have been getting concerned lately about a few of my symptoms,I have graves disease,thyroid eye disease and coccydynia so iv been putting the symptoms down to these but now I'm started to wonder! I have headaches for days on end and now have a stabbing pain behind my right eye which is the one that sticks out more,they are worse in the morning and at night.my legs are so weak I have to stop half way up the stairs,I have a very bad back and can't stand for long without pain,and iv been getting this strange feeling in my lower legs it's like iv split some cold water on them weird! Lately my hands have been tingling and at night one will go completely numb and I have to lift it with the other,I have also had a numb big toe! I also have tremors which I know can be the graves but even when my levels are on track my hands still shake my Endo has kept me on beta blockers for this.my general thinking is slow and I can't seem to make desicions anymore! I can't stand heat anymore and sleep allll the time which could also be the graves but I'm getting scared that it's leading to ms should I try and get to see a nerologist or just calm down abit?

If you are concerned about this you could go to an neuro that specializes in MS. Let them know your other dx but because of the sx you mentioned about ie heat sensitivity,etc you would like to at least rule out the possibility of MS.

Try to get an MRI with and without contrast for BOTH the brain and C-spine. This should give you data to find out if you may also have MS...or not.

Ok thanks for the advice I live in england so I just have to convince my doctor to refere me to a neuro now which isn't always easy :) thanks again

I too was treated at PCP for 3 years, while she ignored my symptoms, then as it got worse she kept giving me antidepressants.Finally I ended up with benign nodule on thyroid and I went to endo.Took synthyroid and now my levelsare normal.My endo said she thinks my thyroid ,hypo has to do with neuro.Finally I demanded my PCP get me referred to neuro-i told her all my body stuff which was spreading was NOT due to depression.3 CT scans of brain in last year were fine.MRI ofbrain w and w/o contrast was highly abnormal-10 lesions.Listen to your body!!!!!

I would definitely get a referral to go to the neuro if you are concern about MS. It nevers hurts to make sure. It will put your mind to ease. It could be many different things. Try not to stress to much because no matter what it is, stress can make you feel worse. I hope you feel better soon and hope you get some answers soon.

Thank u all for the replies I feel better asking people with experience no one else has better understanding,I'm sorry for ur dx ellen2110 I'm glad u stood ur ground with the docs! I just feel so bad and in pain all the time sometimes all over it's hard to explain to someone that ur hurting all over,iv been like this for a year now I have no life I quite work as I was a care worker but was finding it really hard so all I do know is sleep wake up and take pain killers then sleep some more :( I feel I'm putting a strain on my family my daughter is 13 and I have no energy to do things with her and all this when my Endo says my thyroid is level at the min I don't get it! Anyway thanks again for the replies I'm going to start asking to see a neuro and hope for the best one more question,if I do have ms what happens then? Do I start meds and it slows down or is there nothing I can do?
