This past Saturday I overdid it and Sunday I was so stiff I could hardly walk, I woke up with every joint tight so on Mondaymy doc. prescribed Baclofen for the first time ever. 10mgx4 day as needed. Tuesday I had a wave of fatigue come over me, I was able to shake it for a few hours but today it is back, This fatigue feels like what I had on my last flair. I'd like some thoughts if Baclofen did this when you first started it. The last 2 days I've only taken one at bedtime but the one thing I can say it has gotten rid of pain the opiates don't even think of but I can;t be sleeping 14-16 hours a day again. Other than numbness in low back and feeling sunburned on my back nothing else has changed. Is it possible to have a fatigue only flair as this has been well over 24 hours?

for a true flair my neuro says it has to last more than a week and it has to effect more than one aspect of the nervous system. Like eye pain and numbness in legs.... it is probably from overdoing it. I know when i overdo it it takes me a few days to recover. It takes longer for people with MS to recover from anything.

Baclofen makes you tired! You are taking the same dose I do, and I notice the fatigue from the medication, not as bad as yhou though. The only way to get around that high of a dose is to have the pump installed. The medication goes right to the spine and you don't need as much. But, that is drastic!

Sorry, fatigue goes with the medication. A relapse, which is defined as the appearance of new symptoms or the aggravation of old ones, lasts at least 24 hours (more often a few days or weeks). I think if a new symptom appears or an old one is aggrivated for more than 24 hours you can pretty much bet it is a flare/relapse.

I tried Baclofen too oleblue. It made my legs feel weak and limp and I felt like I was going to fall over.
That said, I stopped taking it.
I take Valium for spams - up to 15 mg. a day; usually 10 mg. a day is the norm.
I hope you find some relief soon. It sounds like you overdid it and that is never a good idea with MS. :(

P.S. I forgot to add, I've quite recently going through a bout of severe fatigue and have been sleeping 12-16 hrs. a day on and off for the past few weeks. No advice on the fatigue except sleep it off if you can find the time for it! Take care! :)

I Love my Baclofen ! It only thing that keeps me moving.It will make me a bit sleepy at times.It had some hard to deal with side effects that took a good month to stop, but now that my body has gotten adjusted it is great makes the spasms much less, gives me sweet sleep that I had not had in years.I'd say stick it out, keep trying with it, give your body time to adjust.

I was taking 10 mg at night of baclofen, but it made the MS fatigue so bad that I had to taper it and then stop it.

My doc had me taper up to 40 mgs. Everyone's chemistry is different so 40 mgs maybe way to much. Play around with it to see if you can find what is right for you. Baclofen is a drug that shouldn't be stopped suddenly. My doctor also has you slowly taper off.
