I've been on it for a couple weeks now. I was really tired at first but that seems to be improving. I have also been juicing fruit with my juicer as my morning meal and that gives me tons of energy so it could be counteracting the tiredness from the meds. I thought it wasn't doing much for me as far as nerve pain goes but one day I forgot to take my afternoon dose and the pain came back with a vengeance. So yes I believe it is working. The pain isn't completely gone but it has taken the worst of it away. I'm taking 300 mg x3 each day. Hope you find that it does help, give it a few days to take effect.

Hi there! I've been taking this for quite some time. My legs do this horrid jerking thing mostly at night. The doctor started me on 100 mg. at night and then bumped me up a bit at a time. I'm now on 300 mg. in the afternoon and another 300 mg before bed. While it makes me sleepy and look a bit drunk when I walk around, it does keep the jerking from being so violent. It hasn't taken it away, though, which is what I hoped. The doctor said I have "quite a bit of room to bump up", but if it is not taking the jerking away, I didn't see the need. Like camiol, the sleepiness seems to ease over time. I hope you find the relief you need!

I took neurontin for years.... I was supposed to take 300mg 3x day... I only took it at night as it made me soooooooooooo sleepy....

I stopped taking it because I thought it was doing bad things to my brain... But it really did help with the leg pain.... i get horrible leg pain that is happening all day long...

I used to get tremors while on it, so that is a big reason why I stopped it.... I haven't had any tremors, but like I said the leg pain is horrible.... They have started me on baclofin for the leg pain now...

I would say give it some time to work.... There is a lot of success with it....

I have been on this drug for years! At 300mg, I take 2 in the am and 2 at night. Ithe script was for 1 in the afternoon as well, but I seldom take that one. It helps with the pain and spasticity. I am not sleepy on it.

I have the 100mg and 300mg capsules. I take 200-400 during the day as needed and just one of the 300mg only at night to help me sleep. I have foot pain that is similar to plantar fasciitis and this helps me quite a bit. It has never relieved it totally but it helps. I was even on baclofen at the same time. Talk about spaced out and drunkenlike. I found that the baclofen was worse for me than the nuerontin.

Melaniemic I also have terrible foot pain like plantar fasciitis. It's horrible, the gabapentin doesn't help it much but it does help with the burning in my hand and foot. I find my foot is very stiff and sore in the mornings, the rest of the day it burns (less intense with meds) and if I rest during the day it's really bad again when I first get moving. Even sitting for any length of time can cause it to be cramped up again. Is this what you experience? Right now the bottom of my foot is burning and the side of it is tingly burning and feels like there's something hot on it. The palm of my right hand always feels like I'm holding something hot. It's nasty.

I KNOW I once took Neurotin years back, as in 1999, 2000 or somethin, for 2 months. But I can't really exactly why he gave me that one to try, It musta been because I was having ON, TN or somethin painful that he also had patients on it for. Maybe it was the time I had that awful Hemi-facial spasum. I KNOW that Dilantin worked with that beautifully after trying 5 other drugs!!
All I really remember with Neurontin is that it didn't help with anything! And it made me have horrid diarea! It's like I hear/ see the name Neurontin/ Gabapentin and that "well that's is a stool relaxer BIG TIME!!"

Does you toes ever spasm and separate like if you took your hands and spread your fingers out as far from each other as possible? I get the worst burning and shooting pains in the bottom and sides of my feet when I am in bed. Never associated this with MS symptoms before for some strange reason

Seems that different drugs work differently on different people. I take Baclofen for the jumpy legs, which my neuro calls spasticity.

I tried Gabapentin, but it makes me feel light-headed so I just take Aleve for pain.

I started it- doesn't help much- but every one is diff-

I was on Gabapentin for a while. I didn't think it helped too much overall, but when I did go off of it I certainly noticed the difference. For spasticity I take Baclofen and it seems to help a bit.

I just took my first pill tonight. I was actually prescribed it for the pain of the MS Hug. I also have been getting cramping on the side and bottom of my feet that are really painful. Hoping it helps !

I just got this from my neuro doc. Starting out at 100mg just at night he wants to build it up to 300 mg per day. Honestly I doubt I can stand that because just the 100mg makes me so fatigued I cannot stand it. Along with making my chest feel funny scares me some.

What dose are you on? What does it make you feel like?

#8. Do you ever get your fingers stiff and spreading out all over? ? That drives me crazy...soon I won't be able to sew either.
