I will get "hot flashes" that will result in me passing out even when it's cold in the room. I'm 25 so no menopause or anything. It just happens. My "normal" body temp is 97.3
My Hubby says my thermostat is broken
6 yrs ago this summer
it was 100 F out plus 90% humidity
I felt freezing. I had a big blanket on I was sweating like crazy to the point I had dehydrated myself
according to the thermometer my temp was up but that was not what I felt.
He finally got an air-conditioner so I would not over heat.
Now I can not keep myself from overheating. I like the room to be cool
It does seem that I am either cold or hot I go from one extreme to the other.
It seems I can not regulate my bodies temp anymore.

Lots of HUGS to everyone.
GABA also is a neuro calming neurotransmitter.
Research shows people with MS have LOW GABA so it seems like there would be problems regulating temp and sleeping normally.

ShellyTab~ Some with MS have also been found to have LOW sex hormones and if this is the case for you (hubby was way low when he was 32) this might give you menopause symptoms. Getting BIOIDENTICAL hormone replacement in low doses might help, you would have to speak to an endocrinologist that will treat LOW test results + symptoms. Many only treat the bottom 2.5% so if you are 5% and have symptoms they'll ignore your concerns.
Best wishes to both of you,
EP
I learned last year I have lesions in the brainstem. My thought is it is the autonomic nervous system being affected not just the CNS.
So many questions and so few answers. I just take Tylenol and try to deal with it.
