i have so many things wrong, so many symptoms, getting the run around with drs and not getting proper things done. dr's dont wanna just say oh you might have something more serious when you are going to these clinics they treat you like dogs they only want you to have a cold or something easy to treat so they can throw you out with a prescription and be onto the next patient in their miserable days at the clinic. i swear its been the hardest situation for me. but how do you know its ms? how do i ask them to test me for it? how do i even bring it up without sounding crazy? i have been having so many problems and they just never listen. once i tried to tell a dr all of my symptoms and he said no and called my list of symptoms a grocery list saying "i dont need to read no grocery list" and wouldnt even look at it. i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at 16 without any other testing for anything else except for carpal tunnel and was never even properly treated for fibro. people look down upon me because i was so young when diagnosed, as if this was my choice. i have worsening nerve pain over the years, my feet legs hands arms shoulders everything falls asleep or goes numb you name it. i cant bend down put pressure on anything sit or stand for too long or it goes numb or falls asleep so fast. sometimes i wake up from my hand completely numb from having been laying on my arm wrong or something, this was an issue i noticed when i was like 16 years old but the numbess is new. i just remember arm pain and restlessness, not being able to lay on my arms certain ways but now my shoulder or hands and stuff go numb or fall asleep in my sleep. i have vertigo like crazy (vertigo is what theyre calling it) i keep getting this shakey feeling in my body and sometimes it feels like my body is literally moving, like my leg was touching the wall one night and i could feel my bed moving like swaying and i get this instability shakiness in my hands i cant hold anything perfectly still like for example a flashlight i noticed my hands are never still anymore. my eyes have been like messing up more lately ive been seeing a lot of these crazy spots when i am outside in day light or looking at bright lights or something theyre really little and sometimes move around all crazy its weird but i have an eye appointment february 28th. i have chronic sinus problems and get pains in my ears and throat and stuff that feels like sharp nerve pains but theres 18-24 month wait for a e.n.t. referral its ridiculous. ive also been having heart problems they said i was anxiety but i notice my heart speeds up or pounds with activity or like sometimes just when i eat. also been having bad acid reflux problems, god just everything. i am only 23 years old and im falling apart. i have no life, no friends, hardly any family and i just cant keep up with anyone anymore. i had a 4.0 GPA and this last semester ruined it because of all my health problems and medications and everything. i noticed the stress and anxiety is worsening everything, my family came to visit for the holidays and i felt so less stressed and was just happy a lot and wasnt hurting as bad except when i would stop and sit down or try to go to sleep i would notice the shakey vibrating electricity feelings all in my spine and body. i also noticed i had like 3 small glasses of wine and my finger tips felt like they were being electrocuted it was so weird i started drinking water after that and it didnt last too much longer. anyways i am rambling i know this is long but any responses would be appreciated.
If the next doctor tries to brush you off, demand that you see another doctor that will isten to you and discuss your issues with you. Aks him why about everything he says. I think your main key right now is to get to a doctor, preferrably a neurologist who knows something about MS. Good luck and keep us posted.
What sticks out in my mind that i have read about (remeber i don't have ms i've just been learning about it) is alcohol can worsen ms symtoms, exspecially the ones you describe.
Ive been told i'm making it up, i'm a faker, a hypocondriac, its just anxiety, depression and so on so forth. i got a shrink to back me up and i still have her and its not phycosomatic and she communicates with my docters and i give her permission to and i dont' give up.
thats my only advice. be your own advocate and don't give up. i just see myself in you so i had to write
