I'm glad you went and are able to get help. I agree with you on disliking hospitals, but sometimes it's the only way to get better.

Being stubborn helps keep you smiling. You might be in hospital but you still hang out with us and stubbornly resist giving in. Good on you JC!

I am in Australia & I agree that they suck but a rehabilitation place is even worse. I was just in one & their cleanliness is disgusting. I would ring the bell & as soon as I started improving it would take at least 30 mins to respond. I went into rehab on 18 feb & they didn't mop my floor properly till I had a weekend home. The bathrooms did not get cleaned well & towels etc there till the next day if demanded.
My bedding was supposed to be changed weekly but from 18 didnt get changed till I demanded it when I was fed up with my dry skin etc & blood at the bottom of the bed when my feet bled. Then found out that they hadnt put the blanket under the sheet as asked as I am allergic to the latex mattress too.
I finally came home as the physio said I was ok as liver & sodium were back in level. Would not go back there at all. Also took more than a week to see dietician so had little to eat.
I had no internet as wasnt going to pay for a separate service to bring in, had tv for 5 days but couldnt afford more (out of 6 weeks) in tot al between hospital & rehab. Also had my mobile phone stolen from the rehab room (single room).
Glad to be home.

Oh, jeepers, AusSue! I, for one, am glad to hear you're out of that situation... and it now increases my trepidation of hearing anyone even suggest anything like that for me. Glad you're home too! I should be about the same by weekend. :D

Everyone else, thanks for all your good wishes and the needed kick in the pants for the stubborn... but, yes, sometimes stubborn does make me laugh; which is something I need. Sometimes. LOL

Gosh, I am so sorry to hear about the hospital situation. I went in in 2012 for a short stay and it was awful. I had to make a number of complaints to Medicare and to the Joint Commission. And the so-called surgery on my shoulder was a complete waste of time.

Please read the form you sign carefully before you get anything done. I hate hospitals and some of the people who work there are darnright nasty. I am glad that AusSue is out now. Hope you are out as well by now.

It was miserable at my house this week because we lost our power in the area for 1 1/2 days and it was in the 30s and I couldn't cook. It was dark and cold and dreary. I really miss my computer and TV, etc. I am so sorry that you were treated so bad, AusSue. I thank the heavens every day that I have power and I can still take care of myself. It is hard.
