This has been the warmest winter ever. I live in Ontario Canada.
Now March 19 we are getting very warm weather.

I have been eating ice chips, have one ice pack on my back.
I talked to the head nurse & the heat has been turned off in my room. They are putting in an air conditioner in my room tomorrow.

The hospital that I live in is old (they are building a new one but we got to wait for four yrs to move into it)
we do not have central air on the floor that I am on. While my room will be livable I would like to go outside & do things.

What do you guys do to beat the heat.

I am buying my hubby a cooling hat. His parents always get both of us (all their kids and spouses) something for Xmas, I have asked them to get him this 3 hour cooling vest you can wear discreetly under your clothes.

He likes eating frozen blueberries or frozen strawberries when it gets warmer to try and stay cooler.

:( I've ordered one of those stupid vests, and it's killing me because I'm still struggling with accepting I even HAVE MS. Over the weekend, it was ridiculously hot here in Minnesota too......... I had two options, sitting down or laying down because the slightest activity (and I do mean SLIGHTEST) had me sweating buckets. I sat in front of a fan and sucked on ice. Cool showers or baths help too. Little did any of us anticipate how really "HOT" we would be some day!! LOL!!! Take care and keep cool! I'll let you know when I get my vest. ;)

Hi Kayce,
I tried looking for a cooling vest program for where you live but could find nothing. I did however find a really good tip and that was to get a fishing vest because they have multiple pockets on them and fill them with ice bags, pretty much it is the same way the cooling vests work, they said that on some vests they could hold more bags and probally keep you cooler, sounded pretty good to me.

I'm in jersey and our weather today is like 72 degrees!..I have shorts and a tanktop! Uuunnnffoorrrttunnaattllyyy the sun is so bright its hott already!..I'm pooped out if I'm in the heat too long..I live in a basement so finally it'll be a cool summer..I don't wanna but I got to order me a cooling vest too..the heat is gonna be horrible

My friend affected badly by the heat always wears a cooling scarf around her neck in the summer heat. Copaxone used to give them away. I have done same thing with ice paks on head and behind back.I have used fans when in the hospital.

Hi, when its hot, I do some laundry and hang the wet clothes around the room, in hangers. I have two fans and the room gets cooler than ac. I know because my daughter has ac in her room, and tells me mine is too cold. It doesn't look good, but it feels great!!

I wear my cooling vest and love it! Yeah, people stare or ask me if its a bullet-proof one (to which I cheekily reply Yes lol) but it makes me able to go outside so whatever. I have a cooling pillowcase too :) Anything above 65 degrees causes pain for me so I know how you feel!

I hate summer!!! Hopefully this will be my last summer in Ca. Moving to the Oregon central coast next year:). Until then my cooling vest will have to be enough. I'm like humunculus, if it gets over 65 I'm miserable.

I'M SO GLAD TO SEE THAT THIS HEAT THING IS NOT JUST ME!
I just stay inside as much as possible with the central air on and we even bought a window unit too...lol
we also have a fan in each room.
I can't stand the heat at all. it makes me so much MORE tired ,fatigued, like the life has been drained out of me.
If I do go outside, i go into my van and crank the air up till I get to wherever i'm going. lmao.

I hope the ac they put in your room gives you some relief. It was a very warm winter for us too and we have already seen temps in the upper 80's here.

I have also heard lots of good things about the cooling vest, but I do not have one.

I got tired of pouring money into my central heat and air unit to repair it so I just ordered 2 new window AC units yesterday to go with the 4 I already have. I'm sure my electric bill will be crazy high this summer, but I get so sick and shaky when I'm hot that I will do everything I can to avoid it!

I have cooling vests but going outside really is a problem. I am just too fatigue heat or no heat. My a/c will stay around 80 to 85 degrees so I am not too cold. I know it is uncomfortable for anyone else, if they were to visit. If I drop it down, I'm too cold. Winter the heat is set at 60 as I am almost too hot. But the heat does drain me and makes me sick more so than being cold. I wearing cooling cloths on wrist and neck. It's a battle between staying too hot and too cold.

87 here in Ohio today and the office I work in does not have A/C only window units which my boss has not but in yet and I'm dying. Major headache and nauseated. The girls I work with just laugh at me, they have no idea how bad it effects me. I really hate hot weather and this summer is going to be pure hell,

I know! i live in illinois and it has been 80 degrees for about the last week and i have been running my air. but glad that the sun is out!

where I live the weather hasn't turned hot yet...not even warm really. But, when it does, I use the ice vest. They do help keep my body temp at a more livable level! Cool rags help also, like on your head, wrists, neck. I wish you the best!
If I could send you some of my snowflakes, or rain drops, I would!
