what?..oh wait you said hearing..not eyesight. I find that I am actually "hearing" things all the time..whether or not it is actually something there. I will be up wandering around and my wife will ask me what I am doing..I will say "didnt you hear that?"..of coarse now she just says yeah I did..it was my boyfriend sneaking out of the house..now settle down...lol
I also find that I rewind and watch the same thing over again on tv or a movie ..not that I didnt hear it so much as to couldnt focus on what they were saying (cognitive issues perhaps?

I developed Tinnitus which plays with my hearing. It's like the volume get's turned down then all I hear is the buzzing then my hearing get's turned back up..Then somtimes it just gets turned down for a few seconds and no buzzing. But I also have the same problem as Fred discribed..damn that cog fog. :)

Basically I lost hearing in my left ear. Dr. said it was probably MS. Lucky they have a new type hearing aid that helps the problem.

If there is more than one voice, background noise, kids yelling, I can't hear crap...all I hear is noise and can't filter. People talk to me at gatherings, and I've gotten so that I don't even pretend that I hear them anymore. Made it a pretty hellish day when I was teaching. Can't tell you if it's MS or just plain ol' bad ears, but it sucks either way. xoxoxoxo

I could always hear great before I was dx but since the dx I have what I personally call bat ears...I can hear everything almost every conversation around me and I can hear the emergency siren loooonnnngg before anyone else does...go figure...it's like that movie with mel Gibson who suddenly could hear women's coversations....sometimes creepy other times really thankful.

hi, when I had my first and only (knock on wood) attack, my left side went numb and so did my hearing in my left ear but just like the numbness the hearing is coming back. Good luck, Margaret.

10/14/96 I woke up deaf. Thought it was an allergic reaction, which it was; who knew it triggered an MS attack!

turned out to be an allergic reaction to some strange health drink my boss was hawking! had some ingredient in it that did me in

Hey Dave, I'd let you borrow my ears if I could...I must admit my hearing issue was a blessing at the last big party with my husband's family...his uncle is a chronic, almost psychopathic liar, loud-mouth, etc (after hearing that day I had MS, he suddenly "knew" everything about it, you know the type). Since I was sitting near a screaming cousin, most of the time, I couldn't hear anything from his mouth but bleating like a sheep, sparing me from his cargo of crap! lol...gotta find a smile somehow, huh? xoxoxoxo :)

I am similiar to Julz. I have a lot of trouble if there is more than one person talking..the voices just bounce around in my head and nothing makes sense. If there is any background noise, TV or radio, I find myself repeating what I hear there against my will LOL. Or it confuses me. I don't enjoy going to the movies anymore, or music venues (totally sucks, I love seeing live bands). Plus I feel like I've lost some hearing on my left side. It's all screwed up. Oh well. Something else to add to the list of weird shit.-Jen

My bad ear is my left too, Jen, have always had to use the right to talk on the phone, etc. Wonder if there's an evoked potential for checking that out.xoxoxo

I get ringing in my ears , and I am hear things, but I think the hearing things is my brain changing what I heard. Does that make sense. I will hear hubby say"Kim we need to go tothe horse." What he said was"Kim we need to go grocery shopping." How I hear things like that I don't know. Oh and I hear phantom whispers,that one is creepy for me. But other than that no, my hearing is reallt good, as hubby would say I can hear a flea fart lol
