This isn't really about MS, but I wanted to tell someone.
I'm 23 and I have had a really rough go at life. My dad had a major stroke, brain surgery and open heart surgery when I was 9, changing him into a different man.
When I was 12 my parents divorced, which was for the best... but still sucked. My mom moved into a 2 bedroom apartment and had joint custody of my brother, sister, and I. I shared a bed with my mom until I was 14.
At 15 I started dating a 19 year old who has very abusive emotionally, physically and sexually. The only reason I got out is because he threatened my family and then I had to deal with the mess. I spent my 17th birthday in court testifying against him.
At age 17 I had emergency surgery for meckles diverticulitis and woke up to be told I also have crohn's disease. My incision became infected two weeks later and burst open when I went to get my grad photos done.
At age 22 I went for a bike ride and woke up the next day with MS. Within a month I couldn't walk, see, feel my limbs and I had the cognitive functioning of a 7 year old. I "got MS" 3 weeks before I was to graduate university.
In this time my younger brother got a dog, a huge apartment, a car, two huge televisions, ...etc. He saw something he wanted, he went and got it. Now he is in so much debt that he joined the army to be able to pay it off. He finds out September 1st when he leaves for training.
I have waited, saved and earned everything I have. I am far from perfect but I have done everything the right way.
Three days ago, my crohn's disease started acting up and putting me in so much pain that I can't sit up straight. Yesterday my bike got a flat tire. I was so tired and stressed out that I just sat down and cried.
This morning I woke up and my grandmother called me to tell me that she was giving me her car (2005 honda civic... awesome) because she doesn't like that I have to take 3 buses just to get to the hospital for my doctor's appointments.
My mom is going to pay half of my insurance so I can afford to have the car. I am so fortunate and so lucky. After all of this horrible stuff that I have been through and put my family through, still amazing things happen.
I am so glad I wait for everything because I don't think it would be possible to appreciate everything else.

That is great that your Grandmother is giving you her car & your Mum is helping with insurance too. It will make life easier for sure.
