I have moments, sometimes several in a day, when I have to gasp for a breath. It's quite unsettling, as just prior to this sudden need for a breath, I had been breathing normally, usually with no physical exertion. the most I can remember doing when this strikes is talking.
I also choke constantly. This is very scary. I can drink moderately hot and very cold liquids, but lukewarm-warm and I choke. This also happens with foods of bread like consistency and denser.
I feel like I am physically insane. I'm used to forgetting and falling and never being comfortable, pulling shoulder muscles yawning or waking up with a sprained wrist or ankle. Physically I have what mimics trigger finger, right most most two digits of right hand and threatening the left most 3 digits of the left hand. It also affects the three interior toes of my right foot.
That's a bit, but someone please tell me I am not alone with this-these stranger symptoms. I'm new here, but not so new to MS.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

That sounds very scary. I haven't had that problem - mine have more to do with my walking, gait, balance and leg muscle cramps and Babinsky's. (Toes/feet)
I googled Terry Wahls MD on dysphasia and MS though and her professional opinion is to get it checked out and possibly treated.
(I like her opinions because they appear to be backed up by scientific studies.)
I know you mentioned that PT didn't seem helpful for you bit I tend to believe that muscle strength is very important. PT is not fun but I think it can really help us... it is very challenging though.
I do hope you check this out and get some professional advice. (Personally, I don't care to see doctors a lot but they can be helpful too.)

I have the same thing as you here is what a speech therapist told me
it is the progression of a swallowing disorder
make sure you always have liquid to get the solids down
the reason for the liquid problem with temps is a bit of numbness your throat can't feel the liquids at body temp
if you go on the MS society of Canada
click on Ms information
then click on symptom scroll down and it will give you a list click on each symptom and it will describe them
it is the best ms info I have come across
Jillaire51~ I don't know if it has to do with the O2 to Co2 ratios as much as it has to do with the innervation to the lungs "freezing"
Best wishes to you finding answers,
