I have gotten the flu shot for 20 years because I was a teacher. This year was the 1st time I felt sick the following week. I wonder if it has something to do with taking Tecfidera now.

I'm already dealing with a compromised immune systemtherefore i don't take the flu shot. ms and the flu.no thanks!

Are we really sure what's in any thing anymore ?? I've done fine without it and the one time I did get it within a week I was horribly sick.The Doc I worked for at the time told me I probably should not get the shot again.
I just decided I would not and have not.
I say if it works for you and makes you feel safe GET IT !

Everyone should follow what their neuro recommends. We are all different cases of MS with different medical histories and our neuro will make the call based on that info.

That's why some of us get told yes and some of us get told no.

So I think the best advice is what your neuro recommends, always talk to your doctor :)

I personally never had gotten the flu shot just because I never felt a need for it but this year the healthcare system decided to change its rules and make it mandatory that everyone in the field get the shot or have a damn good note from your healthcare provider as to why not or else you pretty much were out of a job. So both my primary doc and neuro doc suggest I get it and see how my body reacts ... well thank the good Lord I made it through without getting sick behind the crap so one never knows. So I guess for now own I'll be getting the flu shot.

No no and no. But I do stay away from people who might be sick, wash my hands and open doors with tissues in restrooms and common areas at work
