I've noticed an increase in foot drop. I'm stumbling more and knocking into things more. I'm also bruised up a lot more. My recent trip to the ended up with the nurses asking if my hubby was abusing me. I've noticed the foot drop is worse when I wear flats, but I'm still having problems when I walk. Actually I have three gaits, walk, stumble and fall lol! I have a brace I wear at night to help with spasms, but I'm looking into getting a brace for when it gets bad during the day to help keep me from stumbling.any suggestion?

Request Physical Therapy. If they how to treat MS Patients they have awesome things to help with Foot Drop.

I know all three of your gaits very well, although I have not fallen in sometime, thank goodness. My podiatrist wrote me a script for an AFO, Ankle Foot Orthosis which has greatly helped with the drop foot. If you do a Google search for Ankle Foot Orthosis, it will come up numerous sites and YouTube videos.

I have a brace that I wear for foot drop. It is wonderful! I can walk like a normal person when I put it on. I would suggest you contact your doc about getting a script for one.

I have an AFO & it is great. Without ins it was $200. I was falling all over the place & like you I was bruised everywhere. Good luck & give it a try.

i have a brace for foot drop for both my legs. i can't even try to walk with my walker without them.

a nurse told me if i didn't wear them, i my foot drop would become so bad, it would be impossible for me to walk at all.
