The next time I see my neurologists I want to ask her about the electoral impulse band that you put on your leg to help stop the foot drop. Not quite sure how it fits under long pants. And do I want people to see it when I have shorts on?????
Hope this helped. :) Chrissy
I heard my dogs yelping outside one morning shortly after I let them out. I went outside to see what was up and they came running around the side of the house. Not far behind was a pissed of raccoon. As I turned to run, well you can guess, flat on my face.
Here I am flat on my face trying to crawl to the house. Fortunately he was gone & all I had was grass stains. If this had been an actual emergency I would have been in trouble. It hit me it was time to do something. Hope your leg is feeling better, now go get your AFO:)
Hugs
Tammy
I had a lot of physio on my left leg which had foot drop & it is now strong enough to walk with a really good pair of shoes.
I did spend a lot more than I would normally spend but well worth it.'Wasnt going to wear cheap shoes after my foot surgery & all that has followed too.
I do not have MS but I do have permanent footdrop due to spinal cord injury so I thought I might share my experience. Prior to getting foot drop I was a marathon runner; afterwards my life was full of stumbles and falls and no more running. After 2 years of trying everything (including the WalkAide which did not work on me due to the nature of my spinal trauma) I found Allard's ToeOFF AFO and now am back to running marathons. If you want more about my experiences you can check out my blog or Facebook pages, but I'd be happy to answer any questions about my brace if it would help: getbackuptoday.blogspot.com, facebook.com/getbackuptoday
I hope this helps just a bit, but also I wish you the very best--stay strong and remember this: Falling down is a part of life; getting back up is living!
Be well and know you're not alone,
Beth
