flare up and muscle spasms... ouch!!!
mixedupmelly
Next week I go see my neuro and I'm going to insist on an MRI now instead of the first of the year like he's talking about to either rule out MS or finally get a DX.
But in the meantime, I'm in a flare. And I hurt. I started having muscle spasms again and although the Keppra is helping, it hasn't stopped it. Both ankles today spasmd, and the fact I have to stand and walk for 8-10 hours aren't helping. Even if I'd have wanted to, I hurt too bad to set down. It seems today I've started having rectal spasms now. Three major surgeries didn't hurt as bad as today. Breaking my arm didn't hurt as bad, and having both ankles lock up were a cake walk.
I'm having trouble lifting my right foot now, I'm stumbling more, I'm speaking in cursive more ( slurring words and getting words mixed up) and my vision in my left eye is blurry.
My memory has gotten worse in the last two days too. Twice, I've put my shoes on the wrong foot, lost my keys in the door lock and forgot how to hold a pen and write.
I have a fairly rigid diet (gluten free, dairy free and sugar free because of food allergies) I eat fresh fruit and veggies alot, and I manage to get banannas at least 3 times a week. I also make sure I stay hydrated and drink zero poweraide with sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium to keep my electrolytes balanced. I also take smaller daily shots of B12. Hot baths with epsoms salts and tea tree oil aren't helping and when I'm at work I can't do muscle relaxers. Stretching only goes so far, and otc pain relievers don't help.
I'm getting regular massages and I try to work out as my body will let me.
Long winded rant because I'm frustrated and hurting to ask any other pratical advice to help, other than what I'm already doing, or like every thing else, do I just need to put my big girl panties on and deal with it?

Hey I just told my friend the other day that I am gonna put on my big girl panties-whoa-I read your post and thought-hurting people not only have some of the same symptoms they talk the same.I find when I get myself overly tired the memory thing gets alittle worse. My freinds would disgree because they tell me many times, but I just told you that!! Remember when you get your MRI I think gettting it w and without the contrast can give them a clearer pic.I am no expert and othrs wd disagree.I had my ist one in June 2012 and my MD said she will call my neruo and tell them that she is setting me up for my 2nd one the end of Nov or first part of dec taht way he will have it to review when I see him the middle of Decembr. My PCP is back on my team. I peersonally think it takes a village, not to sound stupid.I have tried real hard to advocate for myself and when you do not feel good to begin with it is an effort. You go and do what you need to do dear. My fear is I am sitting here with something wrong when I could be receiving to slow down the locomotive. hang in there-Ellen

I am famous for my typos and misspellings and to think I used to type pretty well at my job and spell well. What I meant to say is I am sitting here with something, when if we knew what it was-I could be slowing doen the locomotive bearing down on me with TREATMENT. Ellen
