I don't think the phone call told you anything. Did they say how long until you recieve the letter?
Who know what it has to go through before it is mailed?
I hope the best for you. The federal government is a pretty good employer. Was your friend approved for disability from the same job?
Oh what the heck. My dad worked at post office. He was also a union president, so he was very involved with people issues at post office. He didn't handle disability claims, he just said told me "that guy has MS? His disability claim is approved for sure." He said SS disability is harder to obtain than federal disability. If he has SS disability it is a given he has federal disability. I said wait a minute, he doesn't have SSDI.
My dad said they are offering an early out to downsize # of postal employees so they have motivation for approving your disability & in effect allowing you to collect your pension early.
He also told me, they won't tell you their decision over the phone but he really does think you are approved.
It's a waiting game. The "Yeah" have it. You'll get the decision as an early xmas gift. Good Luck!
