This morning I was watching a show on Universal Design,,, google its definition and more. Its amazing how its principle is based on inclusion as a norm and on the understanding diversity.it even considers cognitive challenges. If anyone can share anything on this subject great. I'm going to YOU TUBE later to see whats there.
Technology, smart phones, are design to include all, a great tool for the blind. Even if you are technologically challenged its design to talk you thru.
They showed blind parents, doing homework with children, selecting fruit by its color, paying, all with the aid of a phone.
Each day barriers are reduced if we welcome new aids.

What I mean by that is yes, we can make our lives easier with borderless technology, however, it doesn't change the way people feel about disabilities. Wasn't it just in the past week or two where that father and his son cruelly immitated that school girl with cerebral palsey? Our technology is getting there while we, as human beings, have a long, long way to go.
Barriers may be reduced overnight, but it takes so much longer to bring down the barriers in some people's minds.
