Can you find another doctor? Sounds as though an MRI would solve the dx problems - check with your local MS Society for names of neuros near you.
Most of my problems are from the drugs I have been treated with. I have a compromised immune system too. I keep getting sick all the time because I don't have a good immune system and when I end up in the hospital sick - I end up catching something else. I live on pseudoexacerbations and they suck. Now we try to keep me out of the hospital - I do IV antibiotics for infections as an outpatient. I wear gloves when I am in the hospital and don't touch anything!
its frustrating not to be taken seriously. My hubby told the doc that a ct scan wouldn't show anything because its ms. They said they were more concerned with me having a stroke because of the headaches. I would quit seening doctors completlry and do a holistic approach if hubby would support it. When I mentioned it I got the look. At least I have a hubby that believes me and supports me, and that's one huge blessing.
I am sorry you had a bad experience with the doctor.
I have a question because of what you said about "another iron infusion." Sometimes people have low iron because they have wheat / gluten problem that interferes with iron absorption. I am NOT saying this is definitely your issue just that it might be good to rule out.
Have you ever had an IgG Food Safe allergy test or an Mediator Release Test (MRT) for food sensitivities and taken offending agents out of your diet?
If you read about the brain SPECT tests that Dr Charles Parker has conducted on brain functioning. He has found, with DIAGNOSTIC TESTS, improvements in brain function for ADHD patients after taking out food allergens as well as helping anxiety patients. FINALLY a doc that has testing which agrees with what I have been saying that mal-absorption/ metabolism issues can be part of brain malfunction and autoimmune disease.

Good luck with finding a medical professional that can help you.

I have pernicious anemia which runs in my family, and I seem to have gotten the more sever case where i don't absorb iron or b12. I have to do b12 shots and iron infusions. All of the women on my mom's side of the family has it and it ranges from mild to very severe. I've been on infusions for th last 6 years. We are from rural West Virginia and one of the doctors back Jaime are doing a study because anemia is so prevalent.
