Do you get scared?

Do small things scare you? I am not talking about being put in a wheel chair or going blind but the smaller MS things.

Today my body is short circuiting all over the place. My face is tingling and feels like it is covered in cobwebs. My scalp is tingling as are my hands. All very distracting. Not painful but uncomfortable.

My feet going half way up my calf are numb and tingling and they feel very heavy. Walking is very weird and kinda hurts but is just.... very upsetting. It just feels wrong. It just scares me.

I guess it is that every part of my body is feeling tings it should not feel and I know it is not normal and I wonder where it will end. Is this a new relapse and so on. And since this is the most numb my feet have been how much more numb will they get?

I try to function, get through the day and then I find myself in tears, scared. I am 14 years into this MS thing, I should have the hang of it now. But I still get scared.

It is okay to be scared even after 14 years. Yes, the small things do scare me. The stiffness I wake up with. The brain fog scares me the most. I am a scatterbrain now. The tingling/numbness is the worse. At times I know that my bath water turns my body blood red. My water is too hot but I can not tell. So you are not alone. That is why we are here...to get support from this crazy illness.

I am 15 years into this disease. Things like having my right leg getting stiff & drag when I walk at times out of the blue doesn't scare me, but it does irratate me. What 'little thing' that I'm afraid of is having my sexual areas go numb. If that happens, sex in my house would stop. It's not that I'd be concerned that my husband would go elsewhere...I know he wouldn't. I'm not a 'sex alcoholic' , I just really enjoy it with my husband. -- is that bad to say?

Thank you for posting this! I too get those annoying, bothersome tinglings and pain A LOT, but I trudge thought them. When I am at the doctor's office, she asks what I CAN'T do. Well, I JUST WORK THROUGH doing just about everything, so she seems to brush it off. It is frustrating to not have these issues validated.

Chrissy- unfortunately, we are riding that roller coaster now in my house about loss of feeling. :( It brought me to tears when I first realized that I no longer had much sensation... Down there. It is unnerving.

Nice to see you on here... I guess feeling scared or uncertain is just natural - we have something going on that can be so unpredictable. I try to turn fear into anger at the disease, momentum, energy to fuel my retaliation against this thing. I've been battling it a number of years too. I keep re-charging my batteries and fighting for better days.

Hello Everyone

I have had MS for 15 yrs and RA for 16 and a few other conditions. I research everything but somewhere I missed that part. I never knew that my lady parts could go numb.......Just an FYI i have noticed that when i stick to a vegan diet (which sucks) after a week my limping and other things decrease. If that helps anyone........

Living alone is scary because if I get stuck and fall, I will have to depend on others to help me. So I do not know what the future brings. I hope that I will get into a relationship. But I am trying to sell my house and it is hard. Every time I hire someone to help me to the final stuff to get my house ready, they stand me up. It makes me paranoid and I am becoming traumatized every time I hire anyone. I get less and less prone to welcome anyone to hire because of having so much bad luck.

Time Warner was out here 3 times in the last 2 weeks and it is still not right. It is so hard to get people to treat me right because I am disabled. I have been ripped off, ignored, stood up and every thing else because people do not think that I can see what kind of work they do because I am disabled so it is scary to hire anyone to help me because they know that I am vulnerable.
