my cousin who's single with m.s. tells guys early on. she figures if they can't handle it then she won't waste her time. also it really weeds out the ones who would not stay with you through an accident or any other medical issue

I told the guy I've been dating that I had MS only 3 months after we went on a first date. He actually took me to my 4th mri 2 years ago. He's been very supportive bu every guy is different as I'm sure you know.

Hello ... My instinct tells me it should be revealed early on, and, the sooner the better. Let's face it, there are some people who are uncomfortable (not insensitive), but uncomfortable with people who are disabled.

With the possibility of physical disability and other inconveniences MS poses, I think a potential love interest should be made aware early on. After all, you have nothing to hide and certainly nothing to lose if the person chooses not to be further involved. Why waste time when you could be with someone who is willing to be involved in every aspect of your life?
"When one door closes, another door opens." You'll want to be ready and available for future prospects and doors that are open wide for you.

You might begi9n the discussion by simply asking if he knows anyone with MS, or a relative. You should try to find out what his attitude is towards people with disabilities very early on so that your heart is not broken if he is not courageous. Best of luck, Leanna

I'm with tw5 and her cousin, weed 'em out early in the game, saves a lot of heartache.

I actually called Dr. Laura's radio show and asked this very question. She told me that you should tell the person you're dating when there's an apparent and strong mutual affection with each other. Once you're ready to be serious and exclusive let him/her know. Before then, Dr. Laura doesn't think they really need to know.

I think early on is the best way.....plus you could look at it as sort of a screening process.....if he runs for the hills you know he wasn't exactly the sort of person you would want to date and if he is understanding....then perhaps he is a keeper! Just be open and honest and the rest is left up to fate! Goodluck!

I think that you should meet this fellow and go on a first date if you get the chance. Enjoy yourself if it is a fun date. Towards the end of the date tell him that you have MS.
