I was put on Cymbalta by my new neuro and it seems to be helping the pain. I still get pain but it is here and there , not constant.
I was just reading the side effects and warnings.
So far i only had the nausea for the first week and then went away. I currently have dry mouth (I can live with that),

Just want to hear what else everyone else is saying about it.......

I wish I had mostly good things to say. I've been on it for 16 months & was prescribed 30mg once a day. The first few months were great!! I felt wonderful. Then as time wore on I began feeling agitated and more depressed so my Dr. suggested 60mg once a day because I guess with most meds we build up a tollerance. Anyways, the depression didnt improve. So now I'm in the process of weaning off. Im really looking forward to seeing my old personality again. I really began feeling empty & emotionless.
But like I said that is just my personal experience & I wish you the absolute best!! :)

Thank you for your input. I am on 60 mg once a day plus neurotin 300 mg 2 titmes a day. My whole left leg is bad and it does help.
I am scared to stay on but scared to not have it.

I've been on Cymbalta for quite some time now and it's the best I've been on. Of course my body got use to it and my doctor doubled the dose to 120 mg and added abilify and things got alright again.

I participated in a study 2 years ago for people with MS with pain. The drug was cymbalta. I felt better and the pain diminished and I felt great. I just could't tolerate it as it gave me the runs!
The rest of me felt great!

I am currently on 60mg Cymbolta, and 800mg Neurotin, 3x a day. The Cymbolta has helped me with the various pains and the depression. Neurotin didn't do anything for the longest time, but now seems to have helped decrease number of times a day, and the severity of the contractions and tingling/numbing I have been experiencing. I do still have pain, stiffness, numbing, involuntary muscle contractions, and twitches, but it has improved and I am tolerating the meds fairly well. I do have to fight serious carb cravings and nausea, But I have heard worse troubles with these meds.

I tried both Cymbalta and Neurontin and they did nothing for me. I take Lyrica and use anti-depressants for what they are designed for, not pain management. Currently, I see a Pain Management Specialist and I have special medicines for the pain only I deal with daily. I suggest that you see a pain management specialist to help you deal with your pain. It was one of the best things I did for myself. Also, there is a sub-group here called "MS People Dealing with MS Pain" you might find helpful. Check it out. Good Luck!
