You are definately braver than I am. I don't think I would have taken it again unless there a Dr. present. Copaxone so far the only MS med that didn't cause me any side-effects. And after using it for 1 month, my dr. realized it wasn't working.

I'll be thinking & praying that this reaction doesn't happen again.

Oh my! I was on Rebif from April 2011 till Dec 2011. My Dr. changed it due to it being what was causing these "seizure like episode". Which I am glad I am off it. I hated the way it made me feel.

I have been on Copaxone now almost a yr. I havent had any reactions other than soreness for a day are so & site looking like a bee sting.
I hope I never experience that.

I have had that nasty side effect a few times - although - what injection site did you use? I ask because the few times I had that happen was when injecting my left arm.
I have since taken my left arm out of the rotation and have not had one since (knock on wood...) Don't know if it was proximity to my heart that went wacky or something?
Hopefully yours was just a freak occurrence and doesn't happen again.
Have some benadryl nearby when you take your shots just in case it does so you can pop it right when you have that nasty feeling hit and it should limit the swelling.

I forgot to say that I have been on Copaxone for 8 years and this is the first reaction i have had.
I took the shot in my stomach when i had a reaction.

I have had the reaction twice, both times in the EXACT same spot on hip. The other common thread I noticed is that I had been drinking both times. Not drunk, probably 2 glasses of wine.

They believe it happens when you inject into a blood vessel which creates something like an adrenaline rush through your system. Very scary, very annoying but, according to me doctor, not dangerous. I have since stopped injecting in that particular spot in my hip but get anxious on the days I inject on my hip! Now when I inject, I make sure my husband is around, I have a cold glass of water and I sit up after and try to get relaxed as a just in case.

I would definitely speak to your doctor about it. Mine said it was up to me if I wanted to continue on it. If it wasn't for other personal factors at this moment in time, I would probably have switch meds. Mostly because I HATE the daily injections which I am sure the reactions have contributed to.

i have been on copaxone for 8 years and had great results ! I also only inject myself when someone is home. I have been trying to relax before taking it. so far so good

Wow- 8 years is a long time. I took Copax for about 8 months but it was not helping me. I only had one time that I felt my heart racing suddenly, bright red and hot (literally had my head in our freezer) and was trying to breathe slowly although I felt like it was a heart attack or serious allergic reaction. It did pass though and never happened again. What did medics say when they arrived??
while on Copax I became deathly allergic to any protein in cows milk and eggs which knocks out about any food u can name--- I've lost 40 lbs and pretty clean now out of this fear-- learned a lot about allergies. Your face swelling is a bad sign !!!! Panic can make your throat feel tight... I keep a bottle of childrens liquid (works the fastest) benadryl with me everywhere and 2 Epi Pens.. never had to use the Epi Pen but drove myself to ER twice now over a milk mix up with coffee ! of all things... Maybe it won't happen again but if it does... try to stay calm, Benadryl ASAP, breathe, cool down and call 911 if swelling occurs--- In that short time Copax ate holes in my hips and thighs--- the knots were horrible. Betaseron doesn't do that to me but the flu symptoms aren't fun either... I hope this never happens to you again !!! And like you- I only take injections when my hubby is home.

sadly i have been allergic to all m.s. treatments its weird, i also have heart problems and lupus many others too but i wish yous all well in life
