I have been absent for a while though reading sometimes.
Since Mid June-end June I have trying to function through each day. I had the prednisolone drip around end July (from memory) as I had got to the point that I couldn't function. I was doing the shuffle to walk & struggling with that. Had no strength in arms & struggled to hold conversations, along with the rest of the crap.
Went in for 3 days for the treatment & it did not much at all to help me. I did go for physio to try to get my left side working better but that is not helping.
Last Monday I had a complete meltdown (only way to describe it). I have a personal carer in to help me shower but instead of help she had to do everything, I couldn't even answer properly. She wanted me to press my alarm button (to get medic alert on speaker & they can all an ambulance) or to let her call the office as she wasn't happy leaving me alone. I talked her out of it as had a dr appt later in day too.
Then I had a massage lady come who has come for years regularly & she would not even let me try to get on massage table. She gave me a massage in the chair & made me promise to go to the Dr.
I went to the Dr & he reacted straight away when I went in on wheelchair & asked what was wrong. He wanted to send me to hospital (3rd person) & I refused. I didn't see what they could do that I couldn't do by resting at home.
My GP put me on oral prednisolone on a sliding down scale. It has at least helped me & I can think a bit but will wait & see how I go with getting off it.
The other thing that is happening is that when I saw the neurologist who put me on the Tysabri drip & that scares the crap out of me. I am not good with needles & they always have trouble finding veins. Would love some feedback on it please.
Thats me at the moment, down to 25ml & already shaking & concentration in small bits only.

I don't understand why u didn't agree to go to the hospital. Ur Dr. seams to want the best for you. Yes, u would praboly get more rest at home, but it doesn't sound like u can do much for yourself right now. U have been dealing with this for a long time. :(
Every time I've needed the EMT people here to help pick me up I am soo questioning why they even suggest my going there.
MS just is doing what it wants to. I can't stop it, the hospital wount stop it, the neuro can't stop it, medication woun't stop it either; so why bother???. All that will do by my going down there, is to waste gas money, make bunches of other people get to see a free live action sad movie and emmbarres me further than I already am.
I really hope this large flare slows down on you.

Another bad morning. Got pain under chest on right side just after shower & it didn't want to ease. Didn't realise that it had stuffed till tried to use left side & can't lift arm. it gradually improved & I can lift it up to walker to get around home. The top part of the arm is sore & even the half a methadone tablet has not even cracked it. left leg is dragging even worse than before & can't lift it at all. shaking bad too, & speech was crap when a carer came before & couldn't find words so had to describe things repeatedly.
Dont know if it's the reaction to lowering the prednisolone as down to half a 25mg but this is 2nd day on that dose so shouldn't be. I'm home other than thurs when I have got physio assessment. just hope it eases soon. It has taken me ages to type 1 hand for sure. feel like crap. I can lift the hand/arm to waist high sometimes now.
