i have been on cellcept since 2003/4. never met anyone else on it! i think of it as chemo in pill form. in 2001 i actually was on chemo (cytoxin) for about 8 months for my ms. it brought me back to life. for cellcept i take 4 pills a day (500 mg each) and am actually, after all these years, looking to lower my dose. for me i've noticed that cuts take forever to heal, a year ago i got the shingles which i don't think i would have gotten if i wasn't on cellcept, some hair loss, currently i'm breaking out :( . i'm supposed to get blood work every 3 months and yeah, my counts suck but they have for years. my local neuro won't even perscribe me the 2000mg a day that my neuro at johns hopkins has for years. anyway, do write me any questions!

My doc prescribed Cellcept and said "we're not really sure how effective it is for ms though...." Thanks, Mr. Yale researcher, appreciate being a guinea pig man. Neither took one dose, nor refilled. Carries risk of pml as well btw-along with other standard chemo risks. Just because it's prescribed doesn't mean you are mandated to take it. You gotta be your own advocate. When it comes down to it, YOU are the one with the decision to make, there are many many options. And I haven't heard of cellcept as a stand-alone treatment, what else are you on in combination??

Hi all, sorry it took me forever to get back on here, Thanks for the replies. Nes78...I am taking the same 2000mg/day and yes it's taking longer to heal, I have a tube of neosporin usually near by. My Neurologist said that some of my lesions have become dormant, not sure if the Celcept helped with that.

"Figureitout" Hi.. Thanks for the welcome..:) i was on Rebif but I was not doing to well with the side effects. I wanted to try the Cellcept to avoid the needles. but you got me thinking if i am taking a risk being on the Celcept alone.
