catheterization

Do any of you do this, and if you do is it difficult?

I don't (but I know some here do). I think you get the hang of it. Care has to be taken to avoid UTIs.

I started last year after having numerous UTI's. The number of UTIs have decreased to almost nonexistent.
I wish I would have been using a catheter for years. It is nice knowing that I will not need to go to the bathroom for at least 1 1/2 hours. Before I felt like I needed to go to the bathroom even though I had just went. Some of that was due to urine retention, some of it was due to fear.

I have found that in some circumstances I had the urge to go to the bathroom, even though I had just catheterized. Knowing that I had just catheterized, I put my fears aside and then I actually did not need to go for 3 hours.

It is not difficult, at least it was not once I found the Cather that works best for me. I do not know how difficult it is for a female.
