I started getting phobic about certain things like if I expected bad news, I didn't want to open mail. Buspirone definitely helped me. A new doctor said that I wasn't on a therapeutic dose and tried to increase my dose, but I found that it can affect your balance if it is too high. I only take about 7.5 mg 4 times a day. But this doctor said that I needed more like at least 40 mg. a day. That was too much for me. I changed doctors.
Another therapist told me that buspirone doesn't work for a lot of people and that I was the first one that she knew that it worked for. But the antidepressants do not work for me so everyone is different. I cannot tolerate the side effects of antidepressants. But buspirone is great and helps my anxiety. My phobic problems have gone away.
GeminiAmy, I hope that it works for you. It works for me. Thanks for the topic.
