Maybe a nerve test is necessary for carpel tunnel syndrom? That is the exact pain I had when I was dxed with it.

I get this too, but it isn't only the palms of my hands. Sometimes it's my forearm and sometimes it's my stomach and other times it's the bottoms of my feet. Totally random. Feels really sensitive and like I have a mild burn or something.

Well I was tested for Carpal Tunnel when my numbness/tingling started in my right arm, and I was tested for the Evoked blah blahh test, both came back normal. I was told no carpal tunnel, and no pinched nerve.

Any other thoughts?

I get a burning feeling in my feet sometimes, like they're on fire. Usually after I've walked on them all day and then sit down to rest. I don't know why it happens though. Do you do anything that would irritate your palms during a flare, like resting them against a keyboard for your job all day? (If it's due to the MS you can Google it, it's called paresthesia.) Sometimes arthritis can cause a burning sensation. Did you do anything that may have pulled a muscle? Those are the only other things I can think of off the top of my head. I used to use ice packs on my feet, it didn't make it stop but it made it feel a little better. I hope it goes away soon.

Thanks for the help. I think for now I'll just chalk it up to the MS. Because of the way it started months ago. Went completely away, and now is back worse than before.

i get that feeling, burning and nubness on hands, feet, forarms, shoulders and neck, someitmes my calfs but not often.

my doc told me it was parasteisia as well.

recenly i started the medication gabapentine, its helped alot.

also lyrica and topamax can help as well

Well, you've been tested to rule out pinched nerves and carpel tunnel, paresthesia sounds like it. A wide variety of changes in sensation are possible with MS. Paresthesia is a spontaneously occuring sensation of burning, prickling, tingling or creeping on the skin that may or may not be associated with any physical findings on a neurologic exam. Painful alterations of touch and pressure perception are called dysesthesias. With the "rule out," it appears you may have one or both of these?

This is typical of MS wherein you have a symptom and you have to go through all possibilities of ailments before you can blame it on your MS - just to be safe. Sorry, I wish it was something that could get better with treatment. Hopefully your doctor can prescribe some type of medicine (like Lyrica) for this.

I really think you are right, because I also have this patch of skin about the size of my whole hand, on my right side just below my ribs. The skin has been so sensitive, sore. There is no bruise though, but it hurts so much it feels like there should be. I see my Primary Care Physician Wednesday. I will mention both to her.

I have had burning in my left hand (mine starts underneath pinkie and runs down palm and outside of hand) on a few occations when my MS is bad. Very uncomfortable and painful. Literally feels like hand is on fire. My pain never lasted more than a few days. Lots of rest seems to be the only thing that works for me. Hope you are feeling better.
