I don't remember reading anything about this in all the threads, but recently started having difficulty breathing in the morning. Then I start to panic and it gets worse. Eventually, it gets better but still there throughout the day. Seeing PCP tomorrow but wondering if anyone experienced this with MS.

I had a lot of trouble breathing during a flare a few years ago. I could only take very shallow breaths until the flare settled down. This was day-long and not restricted to a certain time of day. The lesion is on my spine, which affects the nerves that I use to breathe.

Im havingba sleep study tomorrow. My neurologist thinks I have obstructive sleep apnea but checking for the other types. I have been having alot of shortness of breath and the shallow bresthing. Its either coming from the sleep apnea or the MS. Kinda scary.

For now, my pcp is treating it as a lung infection. I'm on Aubagio which makes me more prone to infections. So it must have been coincidental that all the breathing difficulty just started while I was in a deep, almost hour long MS "hug". Another reminder to self...not everything that happens to me is MS.

Glad you went to the PCP and got it resolved. I had to laugh when you said reminder to self not everything is a result of MS cause I'm bad about that myself.

I had trouble catching a deep breath - turns out I am seriously low in iron and have been prescribed iron tablets for this.

Wow, I get the same thing.. and it was funny how cacanny mentioned being low in Iron. I am going thru some troubles with anemia ATM myself. But in addition to the heavy chest I also have acid reflux pretty bad. :( Hope you feel better Studini.

I have problems breathing if I lie on my back. I have to sleep on my side. Neurologist wondered if I might have some form of sleep apnea but more likely to be linked to the MS hug that causes me grief. Stress and panic make me struggle for air so have to relax or it spirals out of control, which can be scary
