I found this happened when I was usable to have a bowel movement before leaving for work. It happened twice at work but they knew it was the ms so I lived through it. I started using a suppository just to stimulate the urge and have never had the problem again. Understand the suppository goes in and quickly out again. Rarely does it melt like you need when constipated. It merely stimulates. The downside is now0 I can't go without the suppository. Check an online medical supply for an implement that will stimulate the anus instead of the suppository.

A word of advice to those early in the disease. You have to constantly make adjustments to maintain a semblance of normalcy.

i found for me anyway, that certain foods,drinks made my loss of control worst.so kept a list of foods and drinks and just had to eliminate some from my diet.no pun intended!

Unfortunately yes, I do have bowel issues. I wear pads all the time now (have bladder incontinence) & changed to one a bit longer to be safe. It can be embarrassing to say the least (especially if you have the misfortune to smell). Certain foods, drinks, change of medications, antibiotics can make it worse. It is all a matter of taking note of when it is worst & trying to work it out.
I hope yours is not to sever & often. Drs can give you some midications to help but unfortunately it didnt help me. If I eat I am prepared to need to go soon after - otherwise accident.

this is a lovely new symptom that i started getting this year. it's horrifying. i hate it, but hey m.s. is what it is, so i try to make light of it so that it won't upset me so much. thankfully it has never happened in public.
