Very interesting article. Wish they had that back when I was first diagnosed. Things that I would have done and planned for! Sigh!!

Kevin had this test done, and should have results about now. Hopefully he will weigh in on your thread.

I did have this test done in September, mine was negative though. The doctor said that doesn't mean you don't have it. It just didn't help me get a dx. For those that do already have it or need more criteria for dx. I was her first negative.

I have had more questions about this type of test than answers.

What would you do differently based on the results?
Would the placebo effect possibly lead to a false positive or false negative response of future treatment?
Are you mentally prepared to accept the worst possible result from the test?

Example, my family has a strong history of breast cancer. Paternal grandmother, paternal aunt, died from breast cancer. One of my sisters has had recurrent breast cancer, first occurring at age 39. My sister has two teenage daughters. Should they be checked now for the BRACCA gene? If it is positive should they tell a future spouse? Would it affect their decision to have kids of their on?Would a positive test result need to be revealed on a life insurance policy?

Not that it is wrong to get the test, just try to be prepared for the results and weigh the pros and cons.

Sorry to hear you did'nt get an answer but does this give the neuros a different road to go down? or at least give closer looks and tests to other diseases that mimic MS.
I was wondering if insurance cover'd this or is it out of pocket? How did this come up with the neuro? did you find and bring it up or did the neuro? This test is not a definitive result is it, your neuro is going to push on I hope and what is the neuro thoughts on the outcome of the test? I probally have to many questions but seeing as you have'nt posted in a while how are you doing?
Don't give up and don't let your neuro give up, even though you may be the first negative that don't mean you don't have a mild case that may not be ready to be picked up by that blood test.

my neuro just ordered a blood test that required 25 of those tubes of blood to be drawn. I wonder if this is the test on this article?
