Biotin - do you take it and does it help
ezone
My neurologist suggested that I start taking 300 mg. of biotin. He says that there is research that says that it can help. Haven't started taking it yet but am wondering if it helps anyone here. Will probably order some over the holidays and start taking it in the new year.
So many people I knew have left this site. A lot of my hug history says "deleted user". I have lost over half my friends. No one answered my post about being vegan. Is anyone else a vegan here?
I know that going gluten free and sugar free helps but doesn't meat free help as well? Just wondering about those and any history of taking biotin.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

I feel sad that so many have left the site. Although, I was reading that some friends got tired of trying to log in and may have changed their user ID's in order to do so too.
Going vegan is something I have not been able to do yet. I normally don't eat red meat though. I can barely stand the idea of eating chicken anymore. I've read both sides of that issue. The doctors who promote vegan living seem very convinced about their views but so does Terry Wahl seem convinced about her recovery by adding back in meat to her diet. I too wish I had some answers.
The new site will take time for some of us to get used to but I hope those who left will come back again.
I am mostly vegetarian, although occasionally have been known to eat chicken.
I just realized that I'm not taking enough to produce the positive effects seen in the study. I'm now going to see if I can get this in the strength needed. (300 mg) Like mtrimble mentioned, 100mg 3x daily would be great.
I got an estimate from a compounding pharmacy that says that their biotin is $250 for 30 pills but I bought 100 100 mg. pills for $14.99 at Vitamin Shoppe. I can take 3 pills and get the 300 mg. for $45.00 a month. So the question is whether Vitamin Shoppe's pills are really biotin because it so cheap compared to a real compounding pharmacy.
Where to you all get your biotin and how much do you pay, if you don't mind me asking. Also, do you like Vitamin Shoppe?
