Update - sounds promising..Being worked on by Biogen Idec (the makers of Tysabri, Avonex, Rituxan, Tecfidera, and Fampyra) that is currently being called Anti-Lingo-1. "This medication caught my attention because its goal is to remyelinate (rebuild the protective layer of fat called myelin that insulates our nerves but are attacked by Multiple Sclerosis) nerves in the central nervous system (CNS). Pretty much all therapies so far have taken the approach of trying to prevent antibodies from destroying myelin in the first place but Anti-Lingo-1 aims to create new myelin to replenish the myelin that has been destroyed by MS. Not only should this help slow down or stop disease progression but this will hopefully even reverse some of the effects of MS, for example, it could heal the more permanent symptoms many of us with MS are stuck with."

This is fantastic! I'm so excited! I hope something actually happens. continue to keep us updated please. I would love to partake in a trial group of this new Anti-Lingo-1.

I can't think that any of us won't be looking at this with great promise. Due to FAA rules, I have to wait at least a year before I take a new drug. I think I would quit flying for a year or two if this comes out. Thanks for updating us on it.

hate to be the voice of negativity here but
A) that's a very small study, B) only conducted on people with optic neuritis so likely it will only be approved for this condition in the first instance and C) as there is no reference to the actual trial data or medical research there is no documentation of likely side effects i think i will wait and see what happens

I have been and am now participating drug trials to help with various conditions for people with MS. These trials are very long processes and are exciting! I am glad this news was shared. No nothing is as quick as we like it, and some drugs are used for certain symptoms before being ypused for others.

I am a year and a half into a three year study. Patience is a virtue but hard to accept at times. Things are moving along in finding assistance in this terrible disease!
