I actually like the precision of the IM injection--I can tell right off if it\'s going wrong, so I can draw back, take another benadryl, and find a better spot. With the plunge\'n\'hope approach of the subcu copax, what was done, was done--some very scary memories there.

Guess I should call myself lucky, due 2 paralizes on my left side, I have the nurse come in once a week who gives me my shot. Can u tell i hate needles. I have only been on couple of months but so far so good.

I was apprehensive about getting the Avonex injections due to the side effects that many experience. I have now had 5 injections and I must say that although I have experienced the flu-like symptoms 3 out of 5 times, I think the quality time that this medication provides is worth it!

My energy level is back up, symptoms have pretty much abated, and I believe that I am in remission. Since I haven\'t been diagosed very long with MS, this is the first medication that I have tried regarding slowing down the disease and shrinking the lesions. So far so good! I was able to return to work much sooner than expected as well.

I would like to hear what others have experienced with Avonex.

Also, my neurologist perscribed Amontidine for energy and I believe this is working as well. It might also be helping with the side effects of Avonex since it is an \'anti-viral\' med.

For me I actually chose Avonex for the fact that it was a once weekly shot.It has work very well for the past year for me.The issues that I had a first was the flu-like symptoms.But now I hardly have them at all.For a tip for who don't like to give themselves the injection,try to ask a family member or friend to give it to you.I am very grateful and glad that my sister is ok with giving me the injection.

I've been taking Avonex since 2000. So far no new leisions. I still have days were I have the "flu" symptoms after a shot. My biggest problem with this medication was that I had to give myself a shot. I have a big needle phobia. I still go very slowly.

Man, do I feel lucky. I started Avonex March, 2007. Minor headache and "yucky" feeling the next day. No injection site reactions of any kind. Self injection is no problem for me. Getting follow-up MRI's soon and will report back.

While I havent been on Avonex for very long i can say it least for me that i havent had any of the side effects yet,minor dizzy feeling for about an hour after the shot but not a big deal because i inject once a week before bed.Ive never had a problem injecting,but in all fairness im a phlebotomist by trade.No site reactions and never any bruising issues.Im told by my Dr that im pretty lucky because a lot of his patients have some side effects,maybe im sleeping through them and dont realize that im having them?
