My doctor & I had a conversation about aubagio. He was against it for me for exactly that reason. He said he would only recommend it to an already bald man in his 50's. Don't want to scare you but is that your only option? Is that the only one your insurance covers? Why with all the options is this the one you're considering? You might want to repost your question in the general section if you don't get a lot of responses. A lot of people on this board only look at the general section, not sure why?

I expereinced hair thinning pretty bad, but it wasn't the end of the world. I'm 21 and could handle it, so I'm sure you'll be fine! If you're really concerned, there's always the option of using a hairpiece or even just extensions.

It's a humbling experience to lose a reasonable amount of hair, but I don't think it should be the deciding factor in choosing an MS therapy.

I ended up cutting my hair short after about 2-3 months, it's all growing back now, the majority of my hair is shoulder length, but I have a lot of flyaways, nothing that hairspray can't handle!

I might also start Aubagio soon as well, my doctor said that the hair thinning/loss will be temporary.

I hated Aubagio - my hair fell out on clumps, it clogged my shower, it gave me anal leakage. The hair thing was the worst. I don't recommend Aubagio for that reason. I am now on Tecfidera and it is working fine, no side effects that I notice.

Sheila, how long were you on Aubagio before you stopped? I haven't started it yet and am kind of hesitant to start but my doctor says that the hair loss will come back after 4-6months. Were you on it longer than that?

This is one of the worse medications I've ever been on! I was on Avonex for five & a half years & doing just fine. My new Neurologist really pushed it on me & I absolutely regret it!

I've lost 50% of my hair. I ended up putting it in a ponytail & cut about 5 inches off. I was so pissed! Hair everywhere! So sick of it!
I've had several other horrible side effects.
At this point I have some decisions to make.
I swear in my heart, at least for me, All drugs make my MS worse!

I'm at the point where I am constantly wondering if its really MS or all of the Drugs prescribed to me.

This 'cheap' Drug of $ 7,000 a month which I've been on for 7 months now has been pure Hell!
