Victoria, the state in the south eastern part of Australia has been ravaged by fires. We have at least a couple of members in Victoria, Spare a thought and a prayer for these families affected.
As well as the deaths, there are many in hospital with severe burns and well over 700 houses lost.

We all sit up and realise how this can happen to all of us with so much of our landscape surrounded by natural bush.
The ars%$#@ that set these fires need to be strung up and harsher penalties given.

I live on the north coast of NSW and we haven't been affected.
Can you believe that the police are claiming that maybe half the fires were deliberately lit!?
It is now 173. This is surely our worst ever week in the history of our nation.
The arsonists need to be tried for mass murder-that is what it is and nothing else.
Donated last night to the bushfire appeal. Even my son gave up his pocket money for the next 2 weeks.
The amazing thing about this though is the "Aussie spirit"-we are battlers and nothing can pull us down for long.
It scares me as to how easy it can happen here-we are getting stong easterly winds this week and high temps again too.
If anyone of you in Victoria need anyhting send me a message and my family will try to help out with donations of any sort.
It got as close to us as within our suburb (2 streets away) the golf course was burnt, 3 houses lost & the fires jumped the main hwy which was closed for 48 hours. There was another 10 homes lost in our neighbouring suburb & lots of close misses. Skies have been hazy for weeks really. last couple of days have been clear but Monday is back to 34'c & winds so another danger.

Sorry it took me so long to update but I have spent 10 days in hospital not doing good. - different story.

The death toll is staggering. I doubt anyone who doesn't live in the fire ravaged area could even begin to comprehend the devasation.

Today is another extreme day and where I live we are shrouded in smoke again, have been for the past three days again. At night when the fires are bad we can see the eerie glow in the smoke.
Today is not good here. The fires are likely to flare up and take off again due to adverse weather again.
It is so bad here, unless you live nearby or in this state it is hard to comprehend.
Hubby is a milk tanker driver, he had been to a farm on Black Saturday at Callignee, ( a tiny town in East Gippsland ) the fire was entering the back of the property where he was and he had a police escort out of the property due to smoke and flames on BOTH sides of the road.
That night on the news there was a young farmer stood in the ruins of his home.........it was the place that Robert had just been in as the fire advanced that morning.
Please, spare a thought for all our firemen, medicos, police and anyone else associated with this disaster. It is so so hard to comprehend and there are friends of mine that have lost everything bar the clothes they had on.
