For the pas two months I have had my left hand fall asleep at night, it does not matter what side I lie on, so it cannot be from restricted blood flow. I asked my neuro at my last appointment, but he said it does not sound MS related. The problem I now have is that there is little to now feeling in my hand, if I try and close my hand there is severe pain between my knuckles and it feels as if I can't close my hand properly. My husband actually tried to manipulate the nerve cluster in my elbow to see if I would have a reaction, but I felt nothing.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have something similar
I have DDD as well as MS
when I told my MS doc about what was going on he said it could be either but it did not matter which it was happening

it might be a good idea to get x-ray or MRI of your neck to see if that is the problem

Sometimes my hand goes numb if it has been one position for a while or I was using it in one position.

Have you ever tried chiropractic treatment? It works for my back and neck but I don't know if it would work for numbness or MS stuff per se.

I have two fingers which have been numb from the start. The neuro told me it wasn't MS related but I have since met someone with MS whose right hand is totally useless....so I have no answer!

A chiropractor should be able to tell you if it is back related, in which case it could be you have lesions on your spine...or it maybe something he/she can help with.

I know my numbness is from my MS. I recently saw an old video of Annette Funicello and she was talking about when she first got symptoms of MS and she said it was like she had slept on her arm but she hadn't. So numbness was one of her first symptoms. I know it is one of mine as well. I just have to move around and it goes away.

Same here. I have numbness in my hands and feet. Though Dr told me that mine is MS related. I hope you get some answers!

That is what led me to the neuro in the first place. My left side would "fall asleep" and have that numbness and tingling feeling. There is a connection there with MS. Now it only happens some nights and not every night. Good luck.

yes id still get x-ray just in case- but ya it happens with me sometimes- big hugs!! tickey!!
