Hi,
A couple of years ago I had an MRI done as I was having many symptoms of MS. I was also considered high risk. The test results showed that I did not have MS. They did my brain and the upper part of my spine, kinda around the area where your bra strap is.
My doctor told me I did not have MS but then he said he needed to have a serious talk with me about 5 lesions that were on my brain. They are all in a row. He said they were caused by capillaries breaking off from somewhere and traveling through my blood in my veins and then lodging themselves into my brain. He said he normally only sees this in much older people, those in their early 80's and up. He said tat high blood pressure can cause it and I have had some unstable hypertension episodes during the last 14 years. He made me switch from a baby aspirin to a regular strength one. He never told me the name of this mysterious problem.
Now I just went to see him last Monday for very high BP and I questioned him about the brain lesions and he had totally forgotten I even had them! I had to describe everything he told me and even that he told me to take a higher strength aspirin. He still had no memory of it. Then I was able to view my records online and I couldn't believe that were completely messed up! The only thing they had right was my medications. So I am wondering if you all might know what these lesions might be? I would really appreciate any info at all!! Thank you!!

my husband has the same problem, all the symptoms of MS and 2 lesions that are in places typically seen with MS but literally about 15 in places not seen with MS. the ones in the outer places the neuro is putting down to high blood pressure and cholesterol (calling them vascular). as he has a lot of problems with memory, problem solving and word finding we have been talking vascular dementia. this worries me greatly given that he is just 40 and has never has seriously high BP or cholesterol. we have recently seen a neuropsychologist to rule this out maybe this is a profession you can involve, I have learn't above all else with this illness there is no such thing as typical. good luck Sharon
