I liked provigil I think it worked great for me. A little jittery so I'd cut the pills in half and dose them like that.

I hope it works well for you. I looked into it but I cant take it because I have/had major anxiety. But I wish I could take something to keep me a little more alert. Let us know how it works out for you.

I've been on Provigil for a couple of years now. At first I needed it every day, but now I use it only if I know for a fact that I will be needing it in advance of something out-of-the-ordinary event.

From the Department of Every One Is Different... for me it is NOTHING like too much coffee, nothing like something amphetamine like. It simply vanishes the fatigue. I experience no side effects whatsoever.

For the first few years the fatigue was a MAJOR debilitating factor. These days it only pops up significantly on occasion - most often in the Summer.

I've had a prescription for Alertec for a few years now, I use it VERY little. But when I do, it's a wonder drug. The problem is that I metabolise very slowly, so if I take it first thing in the morning I may still need something to help me get to sleep at night (not good because I have insomnia issues as well). I could never take this drug at mid day. I take a very small dose when I do take it and then I must mentally prepare myself for the jitters and anxiety that will hit about 20 minutes later and last for about 1/2 hour. Once I get through that I just find myself a little hyper but feeling pretty good. (my neuro says this scenario is common) I use it on those days when I want to do something special like going to the zoo or a big party that I know I'd never make it through on my own. I call it my 'happy pill' because once I get through the jitters, life is real good! I would strongly suggest that you avoid caffiene the first couple times you try it, until you know how it will effect you.

avoiding caffeine is fine with me! I'm not a coffee drinker.

I am excited to have energy again. I have been sleeping 12 hours a day for the last few months. I am afraid to do anything because I might pay for it the next day by being incredibly tired

Provigil has been a wonder drug for me! I could kiss the feet of the person(s) who came up with this drug! It actually gave me my life back.

I never got the jitters from it at all. Nor have I ever felt 'hyped up' when I take it. My doc and I have had to tweak the dose a bit, but that can happen with any drug.
