Since no one wrote to you I don't want you to feel no one cares! I have been on the drug for 10+ years and am running out of real estate (that happens quite quickly with this lovely drug) so am looking forward to BG12 being something of value but if not... Rotate your spots, use the autoinjector with the right setting to have a welt (so it is subcu and not IM) and you will do fine. As for cost I paid copays at first and then Shared Solutions had a program where they picked up the copay (got a 3 month supply from mail order with my GOOD last insurance). Now they don't participate in my new crappy insurance and I can only get 1 month at a time through mail order BUT I have no copay so go figure. So ask about copays from your insurer and then talk to Shared Solutions about them covering it and the very best to you with this. Yep you will get palpitations from time to time and I do think it contributes to depression a bit and it is every darned day but I am not a flu person and I would not be able to tolerate the betserons so I chose this. My skin looks like it has been beat up and bruised and bumped but 10+ years and counting so I won't complain and I thank Teva every day for coming up with this drug that they have absolutely no idea how it works hence they were about to lose the patent but could not make generic as they would have to do clinical trials if they changed the formula in any way. See now that I answered I am sure you will get plenty more. Again, good luck and I am truly sorry you have to be part of this not so elite group anymore!

I started Copaxone a few weeks ago. Use Shared Solutions as much as possible!!! They have a co-pay assistance plan that (I think) guarantees a co-pay of no more than $37. But they also have other assistance plans that are based on your financial status. Shares Solutions is your best resource, they will send out a nurse (for free!) to teach you how to inject the correct way.

Let me just say I HATE needles!! The thought of injecting myself scares me to death! However, with the Autoject (also free through SS) I have been injecting myself everyday.

Side effects are all related to the injection site and it similar to a bee sting / insect bite. The visiting nurse as well as the nurses at SS have a lot of advice to make the process as easy as possible!

Hi! My husband has been on Copaxone for a few years. He didnt have any site-reactions or ill side effects from it. We did go through Shared Solutions and payed very little. He is going to be switching medicines soon, just hasnt noticed much from it unfortunately. Best of luck to you.

I payy $50 a month for mine but my friends insurance covers all of his. They also send me a sharps container with a postage paid box to send it back. The shot itsself doesnt hurt but the meds sting pretty bad. I do the warm pack 1st then the ice after and he ice really helps the stinging. ive had welts stay for 3 weeks and bruising from hitting a capulary (sp?) but all in all its not bad and you get a sense of pride when you do it yourself and realize you did something you thought you would never be able to do

oh and out of pocket with no insurance at all its like $38,000 a year...thats what my insurance is paying them for mine
